Traits and research

I’m confused about traits and research. I have lots of stuff that has added effects (mostly green items) but they don’t show up in the research window. I assume it’s because they aren’t classed as traits. But how do I know if an item is researchable from the tool tip for it?

    I take it you may already know this - but just in case -, enchantments are separate from item traits. Enchanted effects should display towards the top/middle, under the bar for enchantment charges. I believe item traits will be below that, with the title: "Armor/Weapon Trait".

    The other thing to note is that traits like Ornate (sells for more) and Intricate (extra inspiration/XP from deconstructing) are found on items in the world, but can't be learned or crafted into items.

    Lastly, make certain you navigate in the research tab to the right weapon or armor type for your item. I don't believe there should be any other traits you can't research, aside from Ornate and Intricate (though I could be wrong, as I'm still learning so much in this game).
    Disclaimer: I'm still learning just about everything for this game, at a leisurely pace... but I'll try to help with what knowledge I have!

    Traits are (as far as I can tell) the white text under the blue durability bar.

    Also, be aware that a trait is learned per trait and per item...meaning: if you learn "Sharp" on a dagger, you can only put it on daggers...you have to research it again on a sword or the like to put it on anything else.

    @hilgara

    Check if the items you have are "bound" items, if so, then you can not research them.
    And as above posters said check if the traits are the same as displayed on that link.
    Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.
