I wish ESO had a more developed marked offline mode, one that allowed both ignoring individual people on your friends list and ignoring without removing them as a friend. Does anyone else feel this way or do I just have social issues?
It would be valuable for me some - because I am not anywhere close to doing well at multitasking, and if I'm chatting, I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing, so that's bad; and vice versa, because if you ignore chat too long, sometimes folks get a bit annoyed.
Just don't do like my friend did and forget he set himself offline for about 2 months. We all thought he just quit the game. I managed to message him on Steam and he claimed he had been playing every day. Whoops!
Heh. Yep. That would be REALLY bad.... I don't at all mind chatting when I'm not out overland, but since I have such awful lag, when I'm outside a city, I just have to pay a LOT of attention....
I've always wanted something like an option where you could change your online status per person on your friends list (I want that everywhere, not just ESO *LOL*). I don't mind 95% of my friends list knowing when I'm online and being able to message me, but there are three or four people who I wish I could be "always offline" for: an in-law I don't like; a friend of significant other who expects everyone to do everything for him in the game when Google and tutorials exist; a very sweet but overenthusiastic friend who bombards me with invites for pledges and trials every time they notice I'm online when I keep saying I have no interest in that content....Because of these few people, I have myself marked offline nearly the whole time I'm in game, which keeps my other friends from being able to find me.

—PC/NA, never Steam—
Getting lost in TESO Tamriel and beyond since Beta 2013!
Alliance agnostic: all factions should chill the fetch out and party together.
Mocking the false gender binary since the 1970s.
If you ever wonder why certain official fandom spaces are so often toxic and awful, remember: corruption starts from the top. ^^v
I just wish they would have an option on the log in screen. Because sometimes you had a bad day and just dont wanna deal. And if you logged out online... You have to log in that way to start.
I have started going offline before logging out just incase but then sometimes I forget i am in offline mode when I log back in..
