Unknown error - this is beyond a joke...

Still getting this error every minute or so.

What point is early access if you can't play for some "unknown" reason?

Anyone out there have a fix for this?

    I have for the entire 4 day "early" access. I reported on here and in game to no avail. I wouldn't look for sympathy on here. Half of the people can play just fine and will just spout some useless comment like "I just hit level XX you're dumb!". The other half will also defend ESO and will tell you it's a new mmo acting on some blind faith for zenimax. Either way I feel your pain and this is ridiculous.

    I get it as well. Not every 2 minutes but maybe once every few hours. It seems more common in Cyrodil though, for me at least.

    All day so far I have not been able to log in due to an unknown error. I have asked for help on facebook and sent in tickets and no one has been useful. I spent money on this and now am being ripped off. This is so frustrating

    This continues to happen to me also it seems to be more often when I am zoning and you get a load screen of any kind. There is about an 80% chance on every load screen I will be DC'd with An unknown error has occurred message which has prevented me from really getting much time of any play time at all out of the seven days I supposedly had

    This issue is definitely there issue server side

    AT least now I know it's not just me - tried again this morning and couldn't even get to character creation. I would get the unknown error on the loading screen before.

    Zenimax support just gave me a stock answer of "have you tried updating your video drivers??" Mine are all up-to-date.

    Why can't I just play it?!?!?

    I also am in this boat.Thank you Zenimax. Not only have you stole over 100 dollars off me with a faulty product,I foolishly took 2 weeks holiday to play this game....well if you concider sending in help requests and getting nowhere as game play.....

    I had the same problem. It didn't occur during the CE early access period, but when 3 day early access began, I started getting those loading screen disconnects. Eventually it got so bad that I kept getting unknown error after a minute or two in the game.

    I read multiple threads on these forums on the subject. In one of them Zenimax says it's caused by packet loss between your ISP and the game. I find this plausible as it didn't occur at first, but rather kept getting worse as more and more players logged into the game. More traffic, more chance of someone throttling intentionally or a faulty connection somewhere dropping packets.

    I solved this issue by downloading the free trial of a proxy software (I bet there are many, I use one called WTFast). Haven't had a single disconnect since, not even prime time. And no, it doesn't make my connection any faster despite the claims by the software. But it does route it somewhere that doesn't drop packets.

    Hopefully this helps at least somebody.

    I was getting errors before. Following a tip in another post, I set ESO from auto to allow on my Norton firewall. Don't know if this will fix your issue, but if you're using Norton, it couldn't hurt to try.

    I got a email suggesting to allow it on my firewall, didn't work. I downloaded and tried the WTFast thing, still didnt work. Ive sent in tickets and called and been on hold for 2 hours. It is like they seriously just stole my money and not letting me play. Of what I have played I completely love it, just sucks that all of zenimax is taking a vaction or don't care about us now

    Got the same problem after logging into account and select character i click play got freez at "logging in - requesting character load" window and after 1min. unknown error has occured. Trying about 30 times and still nothing.

    I've been getting this all day as well. Also having trouble interacting with any objects or NPCs. Have requested help but to no avail. A bit of a joke considering how much money I just spent on the Imperial Edition of the game. They really need to pull their fingers out to fix this ASAP.

    I too get constant 'An unknown error has occured' and booted to log in. Half the time I log back in perpetually falling under the map and have to /stuck out. Half the time my character is where he was standing 10 minutes earlier. It happens every couple of minutes at times and then will go for an hour or so without one.
