Hello,

I am new in TESO. My question is: If I buy a horse (17k or 42K one) with my main character, can I use it on alts or I need to buy another horse for every character I use in my account? Hope to receive an answer because value of Imperial horse is very different according to different answers. Thanks much,

You have to pay for every horse.. it's one reason the bought versions from preorder or the shop are valued.. cause they only cost one gold in game.

you can put a horse in the stable and use it on another character I'm pretty sure (read that somewhere haven't tested it myself)

new characters you create can go to the stables to receive their own horse for 1g. So far its worked for each character I've made. No need to "stable" them on other characters

Do you still have to feed horses, or is it optional? Will they run away if you don't?

Each horse is unique to that character and not shared.

And no you don't have to feed horses. What happens when you feed a horse is that you level it up until level 50 and it gains 1 of speed, stamina, or extra bag space for you.

You can only buy a horse for each character for 1 Gold if you bought the Imperial or Palomino. The expensive horse are only for that character that bought it.

This only applies to those who pre-ordered the Imperial version.

If you buy a horse for 17k in-game gold or whatever, it's only for that character.

Just to clarify stables... it's just so you can have multiple horses for your character. You may want a fast horse for certain situations and a pack horse for another. You can swap them at the stable.

Horses can NOT be stabled and used by a different character. Each char does his own horses. If you have the imperial or the eso store horse all your chars can buy them at the stable for one gold each time.

This is the one thing that makes them worth while to me to spend extra to get. Cheap to get for all your alts.

reading comprehension FTW. Sorry. I didn't see the "buying" part of the OP. Then i would assume a bought horse is only good for that one character.
