I personally love this new feature. Everyone has different preferences though, and you can’t always please everyone.

Maybe if they introduced it as an toggle in options?

I think it was a fantastic setting to implement. I think it was terrible to not make it a toggle.

I would actually choose to toggle it sometimes. The majority of the time I want it to NOT switch, because when I'm working on a quest, that's the quest I want to finish first. Every once in a while I'm doing things a bit different and I'd be happy to switch to the new quest. However, all in all, if I were to have to pick one option and stick with it, it would be:
DO. NOT. SWITCH. MY. SELECTED. QUEST.
I selected it for a reason. Please don't toss my decision in the trash because you think I got distracted by something shiny.

SERIOUSLY! For example, I’m doing a quest. I’m running to the next objective and I notice I can pick up my daily writs. I grab them off the boards as I run by, and guess what? I want to STAY ON MY QUEST not suddenly stop to craft a couple bows.

Clearly you should never talk to anyone or read anything when you're meant to be doing something else.
And they wonder why people are not social these days, probably too scared if they say good morning they'll lose their shopping list.

YES! I feel you on that! And also when we que for a dungeon please let us open up that menu on vet again. Because A LOT of people are queing for normal dungeon on accedent since you guys have change it. Then we get a wait time to que again when we leave group.

I think what's more annoying with the auto switching, is when you complete a quest and it auto-switches to either the Mages or Fighters guild quest instead of switching to a quest that's in your current zone- I don't get why ZOS thought that would be a good idea- it should always default to a quest in your current zone when it switches. I ended up going and finishing both those guild quest lines just to stop it from switching to them constantly.

Absolutely should be a toggle! While we're at it, can we please stay on whatever quest we select or pick up til we change it ourselves? Fed up of running the wrong way because my quest has randomly switched for no reason

Agree with OP. I hated this 'feature' when it first showed up on PTS and still hate it now. Why did they waste development time on it?

I think it's an improvement on the original system, but it would be nice if they could make it a toggle in the options menu for people who don't like it.

On more than one occasion, I've found myself running about, avoiding the actual quest marker I'm actually looking for, because I'm assuming it's for a different quest (than the one I intend to be on, anyway).

How's that for irony?

I think this actually was changed to behave like you describe in the last patch. At least it was in the notes. Can't say if it works right or not.

in addition to this, the BOLD RIGHT IN CENTER OF SCREEN IN YOUR FACE MESSAGES! please remove those also as they are horrible.
please remove those messages off to the right of left side of the screen instead of right in the middle. please.

Probably because it took all of a single developer's lunch break to add. It's hardly a difficult addition to program.

I'd like a toggle. Toggles are also not hard to add.

I generally like the change, including the new logic for deciding which quest to activate immediately after you complete a quest. But, as others have pointed out, there are times when it works against how I'm trying to play. Just because I pick up a quest along the way doesn't mean I want it to be my current quest. So in the end, I've traded one set of minor annoyances for another.
