I want to know ppl's opinion on this, do you think ZOS implement such stupid drop mechnic out of greed, so that ppl will buy from crown store, or out of stupidity, that they actually think it “give players a sense of progression”?
Honestly, I would be okay with it if ZOS did it right...currently nCR+3 only get you 1 page is basically ZOS telling players to “git gud”, and you can only get 1 page per week no matter you are running nCR+3 or vCR+3 is just nonsense

They deliberately made it hard to farm, then released it at a crown store price high enough to make you buy more than one crown pack.
Depending on your platform's crown to gold ratio, trials players are forced to sell pages fairly cheaply to compete with crown gift sellers.
With a 325:1 ratio (PC/EU) a full motif costs 1.95 million gold or 140k per page. On PC/NA, where I've seen 200:1 ratios, its 1.2 million and 85k per page. For the grind players have to do in hard content, that's pretty cheap.11 -

✭✭✭✭✭The grind is intense and the crown store feels much easier by comparison. This is quite obviously by design which is unfortunate. The in game methods of acquiring things get altered in order to push crown sales. When it's this obvious, it is distressing.
It's odd how I'm not as offended by crown store exclusive motifs with absolutely no way to acquire them in game. This new Welkynar motif feels shady because they can say there is an ingame method of acquisition when it's so far removed from the ease of store acquisition that you question if they even wanted to put it in the game at all.5 -

Lol, Nope. Dro-M'Athra dropped a page 100% of the time from the weekly coffer you could get from normal mode. If that wasn't enough, back then you could scale that normal mode down to the lowest players level and so run it on level 10. Not exactly difficult to get all your toons a page a week regardless of if they were even geared or leveled.
VCr +3 on the other hand is pretty much excellent player + excellent group + good cheat engine settings cause you aint doing it unless your on the juice.
As for whether it's greedy, it's a cosmetic item. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were crown store only. People are so touchy. ZOS has been good about not going pay to win. Who really cares if they make the grind for some cosmetic stuff virtually impossible so the only real option is to crown it.Edited by f047ys3v3n on September 12, 2018 6:59PMI am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. ✭✭✭✭✭Here is what pisses me off. Motifs are purely cosmetic, so I have no issue with them being in the CS, and frankly ZOS can charge what I want. What makes me mad is that they now release them simultaneously.
First, it absolutely destroys any market for those that want to farm the motif, and second, it makes what could be a really cool, unique, and rare setup, simply common place.
Space them out like you used to. I would see no issue with dropping a motif in game on one patch and putting it in the crown store the next patch.
What we have now is a blatant cash grab that isn’t even subtle.5
