Summoned pets blocking object interaction

Class pets, like Sorcerer and Warden, blocks the mouse interaction over objects, sometimes and you have to go way out of the pet so you can click where you want to click.

(By the way, any chance of getting character selection order change in character's screen in this life yet? :) )

I've been getting in the habit of using "/yell MOVE YOUR DEVIL-BIRD" or "/yell NO PARKING FOR BEARS". It doesn't really help, but at least it feels good.

The issue is that there is no easy way to quickly unsummon the pets, you have to remove the skill from your bar manually. It's just annoying and I can understand people not wanting to bother with it each and every time they travel into a town.

At least on PC you can remove it on character page who list active effects.
And the twilight is annoying only use her then I heal on sorc.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The bear is harder to unsummon. At least if you have the eternal guardian version. I do understand the problem. My one pet sorc, since I haven't done anything but writs with him in ages, has his pets unsummoned. When it comes to my bears, I make sure to get them away from crafting stations and writ boxes and the like as soon as i've finished. I don't spend too much time in front of them (and will occasionally use one of my own crafting stations if I think I'll have to be there a while. But yes, it would be nice if we had a way to avoid some of these problems.

ZOS, please allow me to throw mudballs at pets to unsummon them. I will pay money for this.

You can do this on console as well, no need to remove the skill from your bar.

I have been wishing ZOS would get rid of permanent pet summons altogether and change them over to instant cast abilities with a short timeframe for the pet to attack their target, provide healing, or whatever, then disappear.

they do this same crap in pvp so you cannot target the sorcerer.
it is very annoying and disturbing, eventually i just walk away from the fight because of it.
just stupid the way this works.

i have even seen people on the forums say that this is "our fault" for not using tabb target.
even though they KNOW for a Fact TAB TARGET DOES NOTHING to help this situation!
all tab target does is let you "see" that there is a target, it does not assist nor help in ANY way shape or form to hit that target.

Yup. They stack up in groups with 3+ pets summoned at a time to grief players who cannot target them through no fault of their own for easy wins and kills. And you're the bad guy if you vent your frustration with these griefers in the forums...

Lol that would throw me so much. When I rarely slot my pets on my sorc I always forget to actually cast them and spawn them before the fight begins.

I’d like it if we could do something like hold ability button/key down to unsummon pets. Actually a whole world of new mechanics if we supported a new mode for abilities if key was held down for 1+ seconds.

I try my best to remember to unsummon the pets in town.

I’d say pets working as designed if you want to kill the sorc and can’t target them through the pets. Definitely doesn’t fit my definition of “griefing”. More along the lines of an unkillable tank. But not even that bad.

Nah, it's worse than an unkillable tank. An unkillable tank isn't going to land many killing blows, because it has sacrificed damage for survivability. A group of stacked petsorcs that have a multitude of pets (including monster set procs) protecting them through a targeting loophole that can still spam frags and fury on you are absolutely griefing. I'd rack up tons of kills with no deaths too if I also had a mobile zoo to stand in the way.

How do you heal your pet? With a resto staff skill? Even then they get last priority. I want to know for pve.

Also pets in pvp are a valid tactic as distraction imho. Yes when they are all stacked up it’s annoying. Can you leash or chain until you break up the crowd?

Last time I had pets on my butt in bgs I leashed em and then shard them in place and then gap close on the caster. I’m a Warden tank btw, I don’t use pets in pvp, Frost Ultimate is better.

Yeah, ZoS needs to make it once in a city they despawn automatically. If you accept a duel then it respawns. Not sure how easy it would be setup, but they are annoying.

Just eliminate dueling within the city limits and you solve both problems.....

Shouldn't take me 2-3 minutes just to render the Undaunted quest givers because there's 40+ people dueling within 20 meters of the Undaunted Enclave.

Precisely. The traditional way to deal with pet classes in PVP is to eliminate the pets; in BGs (especially if you're not in a premade group) you are frequently on your own against a full group. If you get one or two pets down, the moment you move on to the next pet, the first one or two have already been resummoned. Also, while pets don't deal much damage in CP environments, having 12 or more of them beating on you at once (plus four sorcerers) in no CP is ridiculous.

I wish pet targeting functioned differently in this game. Players should always take targeting priority over pets -- same goes for interact-able objects like bankers/crafting stations.

No problem. Groups that consist of nothing other than petsorcs are becoming ubiquitous in BGs -- to the point where I don't even want to play BGs anymore. It's so frustrating trying to target even ONE enemy sorcerer when they're hiding behind four storm atronachs, four volatile familiars, four twilight matriarchs, and potentially even four Engine Guardian/Maw of the Infernal pets -- all while throwing rune cage, crystal frags, and fury at you.

It's a nice solution for those that are courteous enough to unsummon their own pets. It gives them an easier way to do it. It does absolutely nothing to the other 95% of pet owners who have no problem messing up crafting stations and writ turnin boxes with their big flappy annoyances.

At least on PC you can remove it on character page who list active effects.
And the twilight is annoying only use her then I heal on sorc.

I hate that twilight but there are times the damn thing has to be up. What we need is a very small mini twilight that only appears when we are in combat. Or maybe a magic dragonfly (really small one) to follow us around and do what the twilight does.

On an aside I have a warden I very rarely play and I decided to start doing writs with him. One day I was getting really upset because some dumb@$$ had his bear standing right where I needed to turn in writs. Turns out it was me. I put the bear away and he hasn't come back.

This would be a very good idea. My main issues with the twilight are the massive size and wingspan (that gets more massive when you morph it) as well as the constant flapping, even when it's not moving. A smaller pet that takes up much less screen real estate helps with the issue of blocking objects and reduces the ability to block line of sight in pvp, at least to some degree. In large numbers there would still be issues, but at least the annoyance would be mitigated somewhat.

I made a conscious decision to dismiss the pets on my pet classes as soon as I hit the Vivec wayshrine from wherever. It's annoyed me no end from the very minute I started playing this game, that you can't target doors, bankers, craft stations - ANYTHING - with which you need to interact because of the pets.

So, I dismiss my pets the minute I hit Vivec. Which is where all my girls do their crafting business.

Well, first you can't blame a person for having an active pet...
The problem is in the game mechanincs where this is an issue when you want to click an object near this pet.
Since there is NO intereaction at all about this pets, they could just make we click throught them.

Matriarchs would still be absolutely massive and as flappy as ever though the annoyance level would be reduced.

The issue is that it's not a problem until it's a problem so it's just not something that annoys a large number of people regularly. If 20 pets just parked in front of the writ turnin in Alinor for 24 hours, it would become a much more prominent issue. It's an edge case that can happen, but there is no failsafe against it currently. The potential for trolling is there and we just haven't seen it on a large scale... yet.
