Which 2018 Renfest Outfit looks best-Druid or Ranger

Hello everyone! I'm getting ready for Texas Renfest and today was "trial dress up day" at the house. For the past 6 years I've went as a fantasy based druid but I've slowly been buying stuff to make an attempt at a ranger. Here's a pic a each as well as an older one showing my shoulder armor as well as my other fur lines war skirt. Let me know which you think is the best and if you think the fur needs to go or use the other fur lined legs let me know.

Can’t go wrong with any of those. Those are sweet! I’d love to cosplay a ren fest but wouldn’t even know where to begin creating an outfit like those. I’d just look like a bad Halloween mish mash.

My first year was a car wreck lol. Every year I buy a few items. Some work out, some don't. In my opinion one of the best places to start is a good pair of boots. It sounds silly but when you're on your feet all day, those have to be damn good. I went through a few pairs of cheapies and I paid for it. i finally put back some cash and got my custom boots and they made a ton of difference.

For some reason this year my druid outfit's look is bothering me. I dont't know if it's because I covered my shoulder armor with fur or my leather skirt vs my old fur lined one that was shorter. Maybe it's the visible straps of my shoulder armor and bag. I just can't place it. I've got a few weeks to figure it out. We go 4-5 times a year so I'll probably run both.

So.... when's that renfest.... and how close to heat-stroke are you going to get? I've good friends in TX.... one in Houston, a couple in NW TX....

Texas is not exactly fine weather in costumes, any time of the year.

That staff is l33t. I'd take that on a dogsled ride into the wilderness. Heavy lightning attack some caribou.

Texas is not exactly fine weather in costumes, any time of the year.

End of Sept through November here in Houston. October is normally a scorcher (90+), especially in gear. Luckily there's some pretty good shaded areas so I tend to move between them. November we catch some cool fronts so it's more enjoyable then. I'll endure most anything to dress up in my gear though.

Thanks! I put it all together and it's really one of the highlights of my gear, especially with the LED orb lit up. With my ranger gear looking a bit better my wife hates it because she loves the staff. I've got a few weeks to try and get my druid outfit back over the top or else first week is ranger.

I like the leaf shoulders of the third one.
The second one makes a rectangular silhouette so not that one.
All together as an outfit the first one is best. Bracers are really sweet on that one too.

Druid

I chose Druid because I love Druids. Your weapon detail is awesome but that staff is amazing.
Both are very cool, though! I Think maybe you should go with Ranger, now that I read the Top Post, you should try something new, or maybe keep your costume pieces in the car in case you change your mind. Haha! Makes me want to Cosplay, I always said I would one day but I still never have.

Thank you all for the compliments. I prefer my druid outift but I feel the ranger came out abit better. I havent given up on my druid outfit because that's mainly what I play in games and really fits me. I had these bracers customized just to go with the druid outfit so I've got to make it work.

I also wanted to share my custom blades I had made. I always liked the khajit style in that they incorporate moons and such which is druid like too but I also wanted a scimitar to keep true to a D&D druid. I figured that would allow me to use for both outfits. Here's the links to my blades. I hope you like!

Well I couldn't let my ranger outfit win so I went back and worked a bit harder on my druid outfit. I've been going as a fantasy based druid for the past 6 years and it's hard for me to go as something else. Here's the final results. I hope you like it! This was my second week out to renfest and I ran into Gandalf. That was pretty cool! Kinda like Radagast meets Gandalf.

Regarding the re-work... I was gonna suggest, before I scrolled-down to the updated version, that you take the bracers from the ranger costume and use them with the druid costume, and it looks like you pretty much decided to do something like that.

And I'm guessing that must be a Warcraft druid? I don't play WoW, so I'm just guessing.
When I see the word "Druid," my mind automatically goes to Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, and my great-axe wielding werebear druid.
Those were the days...
(and actually, they still are. I play D2 to this day.)

Thanks for the compliment! I had some new bracers made that have a wood like effect to them and it has a tree of life design with a crescent moon and behind all of that a sun bursting out. I love the work that was done on them. They look very aged.

I also had some new shoulder armor made that are half covered in fur but they are leaves. Kinda hard to see in the picture.

The only thing I've been thinking about changing is to add more material to my green skirt to make it wrap around to the front a bit more to add more green. What do you all think?

It's kind of a mashup of a Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D PnP) , WoW, D2, and Daoc druid. In D2 I generally went staff and windy with some summoning. I recently started playing a little Diablo 2 again..such a fun game!
