House Location / Structure Wishlist

I've seen compiled furniture list threads, but not one where everyone shares what houses themselves they'd like to see added.

What places would you like to see a house added to?

What specific buildings do you like the lay out of and would like to see reused as a house?

Personally I'd like a little house in the Gray Mire argonian village in Grahtwood, and a nice little house in Silsalen or Phaer in Auridon (once you've done the quest there).

I'd also reeeeeally like a nice little tower house based off the Fighter's Guild hall in Daggerfall with the central circular rooms with curving stairs and smaller rooms off the sides.

Here's what everyone has mentioned so far:

More Small and Medium Homes!
More homes for the poor, the humble, the minimalist, the traveler that’s hardly ever there

House Styles:
- Outlaw hide-outs, small/medium
- Lighthouse - just the house not with a whole huge harbor to go with it
- Open field or other terrain for building your own structure in
- Hlaalu style
- Orcish Longhouse
- Hollow Trees like Elden Root, just smaller
- Argonian woven reed huts (Like topal Bay style)
- Rosy Lion Inn style building with yard space
- Nibenese
- with Greenhouses and Animal pens
- Chironasium in Wayrest
- Winter cottage with snow on roof and yard, associated with the New Life Festival
- The Far Shores
- Broken homes in Abah’s Landing
- A house boat (without a whole bay to go with it, though of course you wouldn’t be able to put things on the deck that way)
- shack-like tree house (like the one near Karthdar in Grahtwood)
- small hidden campsite between trees or rocks where you can put a campfire and bedroll or hammok
- the Cottage in the countryside outside of Alinor with a greenhouse
- Ayleid Ruins - could easily be a huge notable home, but a smaller one would also be nice
- Sailor’s Rest
- Medium cave with an entrance behind a waterfall
- Large Redguard Tent
- Dwemer Ruins
- Farm with fields and barn
- the bank in the Brass Fortress, or at least the lower level that has the spiral stair
- Elden Hollow 2
- small/medium Argonian stone pyramid style, perhaps part of one in a city
- Bhosek's Palace
- small camp/cave like Gilbard's Nook
- small/medium sized Breton Crypt, where you walk downstairs to get inside
- Barilzar's Eigth Laboratory
- the lower level of the Grand Depository in the Brass Fortress (circular with the nice spiral stair to a platform above).
- Crosswych Mayor's house
- frozen dwemer cave system
- vampire crypt
- wizard tower in Nibenese style
- traveling Khajiit Tent which you can relocate in the game and dock at specific places

Locations:
- The Hollow City - in the hollow city style, not daedric style
- Outlaw Refuges
- Guild Halls
- Velyn Harbour, Malabal Tor
- Skywatch, Auridon
- Vulkhel Guard, Auridon
- Bergam, Alik’r Desert
- Shornhelm, Rivenspire
- Shimerene, Summerset
- Balmora, Vvardenfel
- Sadrith Mora, Vvardenfel
- Inns in cities with writ boards and drop offs
- Bleakrock
- By the lake in the Rift
- Snowy areas of Eastmarch (and Wrothgar)
- Gold Coast countryside
- Small rooms in temples or other religious structures
- Ceporah Tower, Artaeum (like Valsiren’s Study, or one of the small turrets)
- something small in the clockwork city
- something small in ALL the DLC zones
- Lillandril, Summerset
- somewhere in the countryside of Summerset
- Docks at Hew’s Bane - small
- Orsinium, Wrothgar
- Betnikh
- Wrothgar
- Alik'r Desert willderness
- Outside Anvil, The Gold Coast
- Evermore, Bangkorai
- Countryside Winery in Alinor
- Brass Fortress - small home in the city
- Crosswych, Glenumbra
- Abah's Landing Thieves Guild sewer

Small house with a courtyard in close proximity to Velyn Harbor, Malabal Tor. I'd buy that house in a heart beat.

Small/medium/large Altmer house in Skywatch or Vulkhel Guard. Kind of like the Breton large house, Gardner House in Wayrest, Medium Ravenhurst in Fell's Run, or the Argonian Ample Domicile in Stormhold...

A thieves den at Bergam, Alik'r, or a small apartment in any thieves den.

    A Light house somewhere.

I mean... more choice for the poor and commoners, less big fancy house for the rich (in character).

I would still like to see something which is just a large open green field, something we can build our own houses or create paddocks for our mounts.

A house in Balmora. Medium sized, with small courtyard, Hlaalu styled (which is the common Balmora style). With access to the roof. Would be ideal.

Shornhelm absolutely needs a player Home! It is such a compact little city, I usually log out there as it is quieter than Raw'Kah.
There's a whole half a city available after you boot out the Montclairs - Just waiting to be re-occupied.
A Medium sized home would be perfect, with a bit of a Garden.

Also I'd love an Orcish Longhouse in Bethnik too. No outside space, just one of those curved houses that the Clans already occupy there.

Homes for Bosmer that aren't pods - there are hollow trees on lesser scales that the Graht-oaks, and some are already lived in.

Homes for Argonians that aren't mud huts - not necessarily a zanmeer, but the woven reed style seen already at Topal Bay.

Homes for Orcs in Crescent Longhouses - somewhere in Wrothgar.

More medium size homes for everyone, and inn rooms in Orsinium, Brass Fortress, and anywhere else you can get/turn-in writs.

To satisfy the builders: enclosures that may have a small starter home, but plenty of space for expansion. The same would suit the gardeners/farmers etc.

As others said, for me the important is that some non-enormous -impossible-to-furnish manor houses are added.

The only exception, and answering to your second question, would be a house without any structure (Coldharbour Estate style).

Oh one place that comes to mind, are the Inns throughout the Kingdoms of High Rock
I want the whole structure of the Rosy Lion as a house, with some Land around it.

    latest?cb=20140506211154

Where I want it located... Either somewhere on the coastal/lakeside areas of Wayrest, northern coast of Glenumbra, or Out in the Rift, by the lake, OR the snowy areas of Eastmarch to Windhelm.

Small/Medium Nibenese style Imperial home either on the Gold Coast or some other appropriate Imperial location.

Small/medium home with animal pens outside

A small/medium home with greenhouse like the one in Summerset

And pretty much all the suggestions above .

The Chironasium from Wayrest, which resembles the guild hall that you mention, but it has a lower level (basement). I would really like such a tower, with a small courtyard/garden area.

Small-to-medium houses in some of the bigger cities like Shimmerene, Skywatch, Balmora or Sadrith Mora.

To be honest, I really would have preferred a small/medium house in Alinor or Wayrest, but there are unfortunately already big houses there, so I guess it's unlikely - or even more unlikely - they would add any houses to those areas.

A room in the Ceporah Tower! Something like Valsirenn's study would be enough for me but I'd love to have an apartment in one of those small turrets we see from the outside. It could have two floors and maybe even a balcony.

Oh and I'd love to see a small/medium house in Clockwork City, you know, one that can be purchased with gold...

This. I was looking to buy a Bosmer home but I just don't like the interior of the pods that much.

Ah well. I guess I mostly wish that every zone, especially the DLC zones, had at least one small home that can be bought with gold. As beautiful as the large crown-only homes might be they are so expensive and I just think everyone should have the possibility to own an affordable house in any zone.

    All of the above. :D

Great suggestions everyone, and my list below will be very similar.

    - Basically I'd like at least an apartment in all the DLC zones, if not a small home.
    - Add a small home to Balmora and Shimmerene, with a medium home in Lillandril. Or perhaps an apartment in Shimmerene with a small/medium home out in the country.
    - Add apartments or small homes to the major cities that don't have one (Shornhelm, Riften, Evermore, Velyn Harbor, and any I'm forgetting).
    - I've love an apartment or small room in each of the guilds.
    - Give us one of the houses IN the Hollow City!

As for types of buildings/structures, I think a lighthouse could be neat, but don't include a ginormous outside area to go with it and jack up the price. In that vein, give us just a houseboat!

A small winter cottage somewhere in Eastmarch - to be available during the New Life Festival.

I want the Far Shores zone. Easy cut and paste for ZoS, I'll pay 20k+ crowns. But it has to be the whole zone including waterfalls and monstrous statues.

All those dead people can move to the Dominion.

Repeating what others have said. We need medium sized houses. I'd like more slum-like houses as well. Give me those broken-ish looking homes in Abah's Landing, please.

As well as some of the outlaw refuges would make FANTASTIC houses. Even the smallish ones would be fantastic if we could get them with a 24 cap.

But ultimately I want more small-mid range houses that fit my character more. Some of these giant, notable villas well, they just seem much too huge for an individual, especially someone on the move. I turned my gornir into a cave with an open area to give myself a slice of Valenwood that wasn't pod-filled. I'd love more rustic, outdoor places.

On the same vein, give us more furnishings suited for characters 'on the move', a REAL hammock like we see in ships and at some campsites would be great. As well as some of the many, many other tents out there that we don't have yet.

But atm my biggest, #1 want is an altmer house that is between the Golden Garret (seriously, that's a closet) and the townhouse. So my characters can have a flat, or an innroom in Alinor of a decent size.

A suite, perhaps.. given that any Altmeri of significance would certainly not be staying in such a diminutive space, but one who travels a lot may not be needing such an expansive house! There are numerous house designs that fit this. But that COTTAGE out in Summerset's countryside by Alinor.. with the greenhouse is just gorgeous.

I'd also love some AYLEID ruins..

I would like to see more housing in Wrothgar, Especially in the city of Orsinium. A mid sized home would be nice with a terrace to outside and a good sized courtyard.

Other than that, I would like to see more NPCs walking around and interacting with my house and objects.

A medium home in the Gold Coast.*

Ideally it would have a small house, a decently sized garden with pond, and be on the hill overlooking Anvil (near to where the Brina Cross Inn was in Oblivion). Something like the witches cottage in Glenumbra, so that you don't have too much worry about splitting the furniture slots bewteen house/garden, but with more cheerful scenery.

*Why is it that there is nothing but huge crown homes there?

I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestions. I mostly really, really want to own an inn room in Belkarth. I go shopping there on a daily basis and would love to be able to just port to a room.
I'd also love an inn room/apartment in Wayrest and Rawl'kha, but I'm aware that's even less likely, seeing as we already have medium-size homes in those cities.
I want a small to medium sized home in summerset with a garden - so walled. Kind of like the cottage in the south where the strangler quest takes place.

This. A cosy cottage with some charming Summerset scenery and flora and - ideally - a tiny vineyard

I also like all the snowy-wintery cottage suggestions, but I already have (and adore) Autumn's Gate and am therefore unlikely to buy any more.
..... Naaaah, who am I kidding, if they gave us a really nice New Life cottage, I'd buy the hell out of it

But mostly I agree with what people have been saying for ages - more small/medium-sized homes!
