Other than at crafting table, can you check known traits in character sheets somewhere?

I got a notice that one of my 8 alts finished a research and it didn't say which one (only had one doing it). Is there any way to check known traits by character other than physically going to table and using the create or research tabs?

I feel compelled to throw my two cents in here as well. With Enchanting, unless I'm just missing it, there is no way to see a list of glyphs I've learned. It looks like the only way is to put runes in the slots and see if I know the phrase already. There needs to be some sort of book I can consult to see my known glyphs.

Do you mean what the Glyph does? Or the Rune translations that you combined?

Not a list but in the inventory, bank, and enchanting table, the rune popup window says whether that rune is translated or not.

There are Glyph recipe lists online. Once you know the rune you can make that same glyph over and over or change your known runes to make something else.

I meant a list of phrases that I've learned up to the current point. My goal was to post a list of glyphs I can make on my guild's website. Unfortunately, there isn't one available. Blacksmiths, Clothiers & Woodworkers can pull up their crafting UI and view what they've learned to make.

does enchanting even have recipes? if you got the runes (and the skill) you can craft it I think. same for alchemy.

You're correct. That is all that is required. But it would still be nice to see a list of what glyphs I have the ability to make after I've translated the phrase.

@Possum You don't need to see a list. You have the ability to make any glyph if you have the materials for it. The only things the translations do for you is let you know ahead of time what the glyph will be. This can also be looked up online from various fan sites if you don't have the rune translated yet.

Bottom line: you can make any glyph even if all components are untranslated.

Once I advance my Enchanting skill to the max, that will be a true statement. Currently, it's not. Essentially I have had to just tell my guild that I'm working to maximize my skill so that I can eventually make anything they bring me. But I'm just not there yet and the only way I can know if I can make what they want is to give it a shot.

One of my biggest complaints with the current crafting system: there's no way of listing what you know without visiting the requisite crafting station. Anyone know of an addon that exposes this info?

It's kind of a shame that we have to look to external sources for so many things in game. I'm not above using Wiki's or looking up recipes, but I think that there should be more implemented in game to support requests like those of @hobotron and @possum.

Granted, the system seems to want to make you feel creative instead of nailing you to a particular recipe like so many other games, but I feel this makes it a bit too inefficient. If you have to tab out and look at recipes online or write them down somewhere, this kind of breaks immersion doesn't it? Just my $0.02...

let's face it, most people look stuff up, even more on levelcap. same goes for crafting, in reality people will look up the enchant they want, look up the runes then let the guildcrafter or someone else craft it for a fee.

in the end it doesn't really matter if they ask ingame for someone to link his recipes or check a website...

I'm a bit old school, i'm using this spreadsheet i made. I have 3 chars each focusing on two different crafting lines. I mark currently researching items with \ and finished items with X ...

I completely agree. I found myself wasting alchemy mats because I assumed that if I already tried a combo and failed, I would be notified if I tried the same combo again that it was a failed combo.

Thanks, yes i found the same kind of sheet over on TFC and had to start using it. I got it down to 5x8 and use overhead marker inside doc protector. I'm running 8 toons so I'm having to mark who is doing what and then I'll have to remark when I ramp my main crafter.

I still have to go into each toon though and check if they are done, based on timer, unless the research mod I installed updates every time I load the toon.

Personally besides some obvious tweaking, I like the fact that I have to think about what I'm going to craft.

Trying to figure out what BASE + REDUCE + DISEASE is going to produce doesn't seem to be that difficult.
