Stamblade for BGs

I'm going to come-clean from the outset, I'm new to ESO I've just been trying to copy alcast's current Stamblade build with Bone Pirates, Blood Spawn & Spriggans but as I've been acquiring the gear and learning more about class mechanics, I'm starting to wonder whether I would want a build with either more bleeds/poisons (as DoTs seem very strong atm compared to direct, tooltip damage) or with more ulti gen from Asylum Greatsword (given the nerf to incap, I don't feel like I have enough Stun/CC and it's not easy to swap to back bar to stealth, swap back, surprise attack without accidentally going into 1st person on console :/ ).

I haven't actually equipped any of the Spriggans yet and got each piece either quite cheaply or through farming so I'm not committed to it, I could sell and look at another build.

Could I ask for some advice as to a build that might suit me in the current meta for BGs? I just solo queue so really I'm looking for a build that's very survivable (fun & deaths are inversely related for me) and does enough damage to feel impactful. Not that fussed about Cyrodiil tbh (far too much running around on my horse, not enough fighting for my personal taste) so don't worry about strength there.

Don't get too hung up on sets. You can spend your whole time chasing the meta but, in the end, it is not worth it. BG is about fast-paced matches that require little investment. Within 15 minutes the whole thing is over and, win or lose, the group disbands and you go on to another group. It's more about your skills than the sets.

I say wear what you got and focus on learning the maps. Once you start to get the flow down, then you can finesse your gameplay and start dominating.

I really like his guides, but that streamer you mention is all about min/max, meta, rotations, etc. Some of the builds are not really practical, although they probably do tons of damage if you do everything perfectly. Take Bone Pirate for example, it's a great set, but you have to be willing to invest a lot of money in potions to get that 5th set bonus..."(5 items) While you have a drink buff active, your Max Stamina is increased by 2000 and Stamina Recovery by 150." For me, that is not worth it, popping a potion every 45 seconds in BG is gonna get real expensive real quick. If you do it, stick with trash potions that you pick up during PVE for free.

One set that I like, that most people don't love any more, is Twice Born Star. You get to use two mundus stones so it is basically like picking your own 5th set bonus. That way, you can essentially change your set bonus without making/buying/farming new gear. It gives you a lot of flexibility to try things out without much cost. It is craftable so make it yourself or ask a guild mate.

Hey, thanks for the response! I take your point there but I actually know the BGs pretty well now as I've levelled 2 characters to 50 almost exclusively in BGs. This is my first attempt to actually be geared and viable in post-50 BGs though!

Side note about Bone Pirate, there is actually a drink that has the properties of food called dubious camoran throne. It's really expensive to buy because the recipe was from a seasonal event but you can get a guildie to make it for you and the mats are common enough.

Run shackle/ bone pirate/ monster set

    Nirn 2h with disease
    Infused bow with berserker

Monster set choices either troll king/ blood spawn, i prefer troll king myself.

    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Why would anyone put BS on a medium armor rollerblade with cloak is beyond me. Spriggan is pretty much useless too, if you want pen just run a sharpened maul with cost increase poisons and that's absolutely deadly in no CP.

For the backbar bow you can also go sharpened with double DOT poisons, alternatively defending and powered are not bad either for more resistances and/or healing done.

Velidreth is what you want for BGs on a stamblade. 2nd set is flexible, I personally love shacklebreaker as an all-around set that patches up magicka sustain (cloak & fear) and still gives you some stam and damage too.

Bosmer is probably the best race for BGs on a stamblade, alternatively Khajiit, Orc or Redguard.

Edit; Here's some gameplay to show you how it all looks in practice. I've had Selene there but I swapped to Velidreth because it's that much better.

2 Selenes, 5 bone pirate, 5 hawks eye (marksman is also dang good, but I don't have a gold version of the bow yet), 2h nirn greatsword (asylum could fit here)/ nirn or infused bow. All medium, some well-fitted. Season your jewelry glyphs to taste. I use all WD.

I love this build: Great max stats, great sustain, and wicked burst. You're not stuck with ranged or melee play styles. Against tanks or healers in land grabs esp you'll need to save some Magicka for fear to drop block and def practice your various combos, you'll need them. If you're pretty skilled with LOS then stamblade will be easier for you than any other stam class because of shade and cloak.

And how are you surviving on this? No defensive sets, no defensive monster set, no SnB. 7 medium. Pure glass cannon

I prefer heavy stamblade, but to each their own. But for those who are running medium stamblade, usually, at least 1 defensive set is present.

In no CP there are not many ways to survive in mostly medium, you can go 2 heavy on biggest pieces and you can also go full tri-stat glyphs and even 3x swift since loss of max stats is less severe in no CP.

Alternatively if you want more max stats (including health), then triune even on jewelry.

In addition to that, it helps to have full impene with reinforced heavy chest and defending bow, and if you're up for avoiding mag DKs, then stage 3 vampirism can help too, the extra recoveries are pretty cool (they pretty much replace the CP ones).

Apart from all that, 3x swift + bow's major expedition is an insanely strong combo when you're cloaked.

You can cover tremendous distance if you're not revealed, and even without swift I found that simply sprinting away after dodging on the bow bar can often be enough if there's no one speedy in the other team to catch you.

You're only focused on the nuke but forgot the juke. Also sustain sets are a form of defense, they really come in handy.

I use LoS, range, speed, dodge roll, shade or fear, cloak, and have been playing since release. If you get caught against 3 magsorcs premade and they all focus you oh well. What would heavy armor do for you then anyway.

I find a defensive set on a medium armor build to be a waste, but to this point bloodspawn is fun for the ult gen and yes you are tankier for a bit. I dont like tk on medium armor builds. My opinion.

Yeah I was just curious because I have tried and failed at running medium bow stamblade many times. I prefer 6 heavy 1 medium dw/2h stamblade. So for the people running 2h/bow medium, I'm always wondering how they're chugging along.

I've looked at the medium builds utilizing impreg and they have seemed promising (not enough for me to switch). But for the build u posted, if you're real good, you can make it work and excel at it.

Lol it's funny bc I often feel the same about heavy armor stamblades, like what am I doing wrong. I like seventh legion on nb, but I also mess with reactive/cowards/troll king 2h ax/snb, reverb pwns.

Yeah, for me it's just whatever you enjoy most playing.

I like bow stamblade in open world but I switch for BGs. No judgments extended by me in any way

My Khajiit NB runs pretty much the same setup in Cyrodiil.
I am by no means an expert on the stamblade but this works for me.
    5x Bone Pirate, 5x Spriggans and 2x Selene/Troll King.

Alcast's bars setup doesnt really work for me because its hard to CC blocking players.
I moved Vigor to the back bar and got Fear on the front bar.

With Selene its easy to do high dmg if you time your CC and burst around it.
When the bear procs, Fear>Incap>Relentless and the bear will hit just after the incap.

With Troll King its a lot easier to survive but you have to rely more on Relentless for the burst.
I havent played as much with Troll King but I can imagine having an execute could be nice.
Maybe instead of the gap closer because with a couple Swift its easy enough to get in range.

Wow! Huge split of opinion in this thread and I didn't even know Heavy-Stamblade was a thing! The Medium armor passives look like a no-brainer for a burst/assassin class but what do I know!

Could anyone please point me in the direction of a strong no-CP BG build including armor and bars? Preferably something that doesn't require gear from trials. I'm OK with vet dungeons but not yet got into trials.
