"This Item Cannot be Deconstructed"

In my honest opinion this warning should be on the TOP of item pages, not hidden at the bottom. I often buy jewelry for Decon and I have found this issue to be quite annoying - when I want to buy 200 rings at a time - it's a serious pain in the butt to check all 600 rings in a store individually for this tag at the bottom. It should go right underneath the name - not hidden underneath all the set bonuses.

I've lost a fair amount of gold to this trap and it sucks. Console guild traders are already a nightmare to sort through - stuff like this makes it worse. I've learned to check now - but it makes buying in bulk a very lengthy process, it's frustrating.

EDIT: Since apparently it's in "Plain Sight" I challenge any of you, without blindly guessing, to identify which one of these 2 items cannot be deconned. Remember folks, it's in "plain sight:"

I agree to this too but sadly ZOS would never make that happen. They wanted us to suffer the grind instead of relying on ~3 years of stockpiled gear in the community :/

At this point they should retro make it all deconstructable.

I think it was fair to not entice people to hoard jewelry before SS by making it non-decon, because that would have allowed for some serious taking advantage of the market from people who have the most time to play. YOu may say "so what" to that but it would have really thrown things out of whack if someone was 50 JC day one selling stuff for obscene amounts - it was already bad enough.

    but not as important now.

It's not in plain sight... you have to physically scroll down to see it. I'm literally here arguing that is should be in plain sight... smh

Maybe on PC it's nice and readily presented to you, but for us we have to scroll down past everything else to see it. To drive the point home - I challenge you - tell me which one of these rings is the one that can't be deconned - since it's in such plain sight... I'll wait...

Yes caveat emptor is a thing - that doesn't mean ZOS can't fix this issue with QoL and make it so that making an informed purchase is easier and less time wasteful which is what I'm here asking for... are you here to troll or contribute to the convo at hand?

its just as bad on pc. letters are pretty small and close to the bottom and you have to really slow down when looking through listings, becasue its very easy to miss them.

most of the jewellery in traders are set pieces, which means the warning text as buried beneath the set bonus stats.

perhaps the "cannot deconstruct" text should be moved to the top-right hand side (opposite the bind-on-equip text) or just before the set-stat section in bright red or yellow letters for better visibility

It was a bad decision by ZOS to make old jewelry like this. It was a short term solution to a problem that isn't actually a problem and we'll be seeing the "old" jewelry come up and annoy us every once in a while for years to come. The minimal gains in initial balance aren't even remotely worth the trouble. It's not too late. They can remove the restriction at this point and I don't think anyone would care much... except maybe someone who had 500+ gold jewelry stored ahead of the update and has since vendored it.

Considering ZOS has revised the item info for player convenience multiple times over the years, your resistance to someone's minor quality of life suggestion is strange, but not as strange as suggesting it's a 'buyer beware' issue when OP is very explicitly suggesting their efforts to buy and beware are exactly the inconvenience issue.

I understand that ZOS wanted to make jewelry crafting hard but I think they should eventually allow us to decon all the old jewelry. 90% of people, that wanted to, should have hit 50 Jewelry Crafting by now so most of the point in keeping old stuff from being deconstructed should be moot. I hope that within the next few updates, they will change it so I can get rid of all the ring and necklace trash I have in my inventory that is non-decon. I keep holding it, hoping the day will come and I might get a few extra grains from it.

I do check what I buy - how about read the post before spouting nonsense.

You came here said it's in Plain View - I proved it's not.

Then you turn to this caveat emptor nonsense, like that's even relevant to the situation at hand.

The problem is the checking process is longer than need be, I'm asking for a QoL to make checking less time consuming. I still check - and I never refuted responsibility for the gold I personally lost. Go troll another thread.

I sold two before realising what I was doing and I'm on PC. I had been vaguely aware of the problem , but it took me a few days after the patch to see the warning. I decided at that point to get rid of them all. Just apologising to whoever I suckered, I am sure I'm not the only one. I avoided this issue by moving to Alik'r and asking people in the zone chat to directly COD me deconstructable rings. I check the first package from any person and all other shipments I will just take without looking. If I saw, that somebody fooled me, I would just return all shipments from this person onwards.

I know, it won't solve the issue, but at least it will make your life easier. Also, you can process incoming mail at your leisure time.
