✭Honestly I don’t even have a PS4 Pro but I really feel for the people dealing with this issue. I’ve seen people in my guilds asking if the HDR is broken, not even just on this forum. It obviously affects a lot of people and it sucks A LOT to have something vital to your personal gameplay changed without warning and more or less be told “yeah we kinda meant for this, maybe we’ll make it a little more like it used to be some day.” That situation kinda makes me want to unsubscribe and it doesn’t even impact me directly. I completely agree but there are voices saying it is good now (intended or broken) and voices saying they want what it was before.So this is simply based on live experiences what we had and what we have.0 -

✭It was better before patchI'm about to be a former ESO+ member over this. I understand that there are folks who have no clue how to calibrate a TV, and that for some the HDR appeared too intense or over-saturated. I get it.
The correct answer would have been to make the HDR Brightness slider in the Video options actually do something, like control color intensity. Instead, they rolled back the saturation so far that the load screens far outshine the actual game.PS5NA2 -

People who are saying it's fine now are wrong. The HDR slider does nothing. If a slider in the game does nothing, the game is broken.
I'm professional photo/video editor with a background in game art. This game is broken and looks terrible. I will admit that even before, the HDR functionality was not perfect, but that's to be expected from a game that is 4+ years old. it is far worse now.1 -

Democracy is a joke and no game or artistic endeavor should ever be run by democracy. Just because some ignorants have a voice, does not mean they should be heeded. What a product like this needs is strong leadership and direction, someone saying, "this is what is good."
Now for this particular issue, I play PC so can't speak to it but I am inclined to believe people like OP and not some nameless voices defending the company.0 -

✭I don't have a 4K TV but I can understand what people are going through. This is ridiculous. Selling a product and then changing the product. That is false advertising. I got an Xbox One for ESO. Sadly life got in the way and I couldn't buy a 4K TV.
Still I am very upset over this. This is just as bad as removing a class from the game and only having 4 classes again.Not my quote but I love this saying

I'm still trying to find an article that provides solid technical analysis and evidence of that. The reports I have found report that frame rate improvements are all across the map, as are load times. I really don't care about improved graphics. Last year I bought a new TV after having a 720 for a long time... that's probably a bigger improvement then I'll get from updating the console. But hey, I'd welcome more information about this.

But any honest gamer who has experienced it will tell you how big the upgrade was prior to this broken HDR incompetence. Not only on this game.
It’s been game changing for me. You have to have a good/proper 4K tv with HDR to get best experience. It’s not cheap.0 -

This is spot on. While the poll is nice to show that the majority want it the way it was before, it belittles the fact that this was a major mistake that was most certainly not properly tested.

With the break to HDR the upgrade is not noticeable (and in my case actually looks worse in many areas). The upgrade used to be stark and fantastic though.
