does refreshing this skill give the heal,

    The small one yes but the good heal is only when the shield expires

    yea I wasn't sure as it would be expired when replaced by the new one

    Nice idea, but believe the first cast has to expire for the heal to be used.

    That would make Healing Ward brokenly OP.
    Don't get me wrong. I am all for having a more reliable heal accessible by my sorc but that's just too powerful as the shield prevents you from dying and recasting it will potentially heal you from 1% to 100%.
