Consistent High Ping

As a player from Southeast Asia I'm no stranger to high ping(250-300), but this patch has been insanely laggy for me. My ping is consistently displayed as 350 and above but it feels like its at least 800; skills are taking painfully long to cast and register, haven't been able to play meaningfully the past few days. Does anyone else experience significantly worse skill delays and ping this patch, or is it just me? I don't have lag in other games and my speedtest results are still as good as before, what do you guys think could be causing the problem?

Glad to know it's not just me. This patch the lag has been insane for me. I play from Australia so I'm also used to having roughly 250-350 ping but like you said lately it's been between 100-150 higher but feels even worse.

Over several patches I have seen a gradual but steady increase in latency playing from Australia. I was initially on our decrepit ADSL = all copper wire, however latency was 300 pretty steady until about Morrowind. Since then its gradually crept up until it was over 400 routinely about DragonBones.

Now I use a vpn just to keep it at around the 300 mark(in pve- in pvp it is 330 at best and -400 in peak periods/massive battles) I had in previous patches. Now I have the nbn (majority fibre cable). Like wise there is alot of spikes here and there and it 'feels' worse than 300. It is really appalling trying to pvp with this latency and even pve like Scale caller hm, vma etc is just awful.

I have only just changed isp which has so far seemed to add a tiny improvement in stability and performance but it's too early to be sure.

I play on satellite so 750-850 ping normally. Its playable but since the update I now have went from just the normal long time for skills to go off to skills just failing all together

Ping is unusually super high here as well. Playing from SEA.

Since the Last patch its fluctuating all over the bloody place.. 280 -1600 etc.. insane to try and play.. its why i'm here and not in game mostly.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it seems that players in the oceanic region or regions out of NA are the only ones affected by this higher-than-usual ping problem, hopefully ZOS does something to fix it soon so we can go back to playing normally.

Probably shouldn’t with that kind of connection, but anyway.

I can only imagine what a disaster it is for other players. I bet your skipping and doing the running man all over the place.

Landing a wrecking blow on you is probably impossible. The server has no clue where you are or where to place you. Haha
