What will a free 100k teach us and Zos? (daily rewards)

What will a free 100k teach us and Zos?

I was curious! For me, if i had access to the data, it would give me an idea of what a good gold sink price for crates would be. so that's one prediction i have! crown crates will be coming soon to buy with gold AND they will not be de-conaable for the gems that give the apex awards.

What do yall think?

Insight to Agree to Awesome Ratio = 1:6.04:2.76 as of 1/25/2019

Compared to people that I've ignored = I am 18% more insightful, 20% less agreeable, and 88% more awesome.

I don't see how giving out free gold will inform any kind of future decision to make crates gold-purchasable.

And I REALLY don't see any kind of change to the crate model that would ever make them gold-purchasable.

I think the only thing zos will be learning is how many dead accounts they can get to log in for twenty eight days to get the reward.

if you could give demand a quantity?

I think it would be interesting to see the percentage of players that normally complete the monthly daily logins versus the 100K. To a lot of people on the forums, this is apparently chump change. To a lot of us new players it is a big deal. But will people actually login every day when they haven't been for loot crates? I pretty much do anyway, I'm just hoping life doesn't interfere for more than a couple of days this month (or that my wife hogs the game past the daily cutover time).

Mostly, I would be interested in the stats... and how it breaks out versus PC / Xbox / PS4 and if there is any difference in region. I'll never see that data, but it would be interesting.

What part of giving free money gives them any indication of that, though?

"Oh, a bunch of people claimed free gold! Looks like we should sell crates for gold!"

See how that makes...no sense? The two statements are unrelated. There's nothing there testing a currency exchange, or a demand for gold-purchased crates. They'll learn that...some people have more gold now. And maybe how strong of an incentive to log in 100k gold is. That's it.

If there was a reward that let people CHOOSE between gold and crates, or a reward that gave you a limited opportunity to buy crates with gold, that would be kinda relevant. But free gold has nothing to do with selling crates for gold. At all.

I don't know, I'd say that free crates are a way stronger incentive to login than 100k gold.

Given so little wiggle room was provided this month, it is likely many (if not most) players won't cash in on the gold. On xbox this week, we already had some down time due to issues with xbox live. That by itself has probably destroyed one of the two days many xbox players can afford to miss. If we have more down time like that, we can all kiss that 100k goodbye entirely. It makes me question why they made the login requirement so stiff this time around.

Would you log in once a day for a month only to get 100.000 gold? Kinda sad.

    mmm...

well, sorry, my intention wasn't to be contentious.

if log-ins are greater by 3x for 100k than they are for 5 free crates that does hint at, at least for me, that, 100k is 3x more valuable than 5 crates...setting the price of a single crate to be roughly 6666 gold. THESE ARE JUST EXAMPLE NUMBERS.

100k is a big deal for new players. I'd prefer the crates any day, but I'm sure there's a lot of newbies that can't wait to be 100k richer

100k is still an item to legendary quality. It's not something to scoff at as a free gift.

Would you rather we just get more 1.5k additions?

I don' think we're being contentious! Just chatting about something that we don't exactly agree on. That's okay in my book.

That's actually an interesting theory--I don't entirely buy it, as I think there would be faster, more direct ways to get that data (pilot a program where everyone can buy up to 5 crates for 20k each--do people bite? Or offer a choice of gold or crate, etc. etc.). But I get what you're saying.

I'd think they'd want to parallel their "test" a little better if you were right about their intention. Previously we only had to log on like 20 times to get the 5 crate bundle, then an extra crate each day past that for like 5 days, right? Now you have to do all 28 to get the 100k. Just doesn't seem like they are trying to compare the results of each, or they'd just have put the big crate reward on the last day last month.

I've been getting burned out with ESO, I love the game I really do, I've played it consistently for almost 3 years now. but im at a point I feel like im not making any progress, and with the roll out of jewelry crafting(although much needed), was not the way it could have been. combined with ZOS lack of consumer concerns and desires, I need a break. Still love the game, and in my opinion is one of the best games ever made, I just still need a break.

From a gaming pov and applying your logic, pets are useless. They add zero value to gameplay. 100k allows you to gold 1 or 2 pieces of gear depending which type of gear you're improving.

Also not true. Being in a trading guild doesn't mean someone is making gold hand over first, or that they fail to recognize the value of 100k gold. Remember, your experiences are not that of all players. Many players, trading guild or no, are not as good at making gold as you are.
