PUGed some dungeons this weekend on Xbox NA

Saturday night I PUGed some dungeons, Vet Vaults of Madness in particular, as I was trying to get the Grothdar heavy helm. After a few tries, finally got the heavy helm. The group that I was with during that last run, ended up all staying together and queued for Vet Cradle of Shadows. Now, I had no idea this was a DLC dungeon. I mean I knew it was part of The Shadows of The Hist DLC, but in my mind, it just never registered until half way through the dungeon, when I realized the difficulty seemed to be a little more than usual.

The dungeon went really well in my opinion. When we got to the boss, the dremora lady, can't remember her name, but she teleports to different braziers throughout the fight. This is when we started dying and wiped a few times. But we didn't give up. We communicated with each other, learning from our mistakes. Our tank had to leave, but in a few minutes, we got another one. We beat the boss and made it to Velidreth. Died a couple of times in there too, but the mechanics were fairly easy to learn. We beat that boss and completed the dungeon.

I'm CP487 and was one of the damage dealers in the group. This dungeon really helped show where I fit in with the rest of the group. I feel like I contributed well, as did everyone else. In my opinion, I feel when any of us did die, it was usually do to mechanics. Once we figured them out, we got the job done.

What I took away from this experience was that there is definitely some room for improvement to come from the damage I am dishing out. I am currently putting out 20-21K at the moment, and can hold my own in all the vet dungeons I have tried so far, most of the time with no deaths. But This helped me realize I am not as bad of a player as I had thought I was.

As I said above, I can't remember the gamertags of the players I PUGed with on Saturday night on Xbox NA, but you guys were an awesome group and 10/10 would run dungeons with you again!

This is the way dungeons should be ran. 90% of the time it's the mechanics that kill ppl but some cant handle it and the blame game starts. Glad to see you got a good PUG on Xbox. I play xbox as well and hardly ever run PUG's anymore. I either solo the vet dungeons that don't have a solo stopping mechanic or group with guild mates that need help.

What I thought was cool, is that none of us used our mics. We used the group chat, which worked perfectly. After the first couple deaths, one guy said "We can do this" and we just kept going at it. The communication was great honestly. Flowed real nice once we got mechanics down.

I think I have been lucky so far with PUGing dungeons. Most have been pretty smooth. I'm sure I have jinxed myself now that I said that lol.

Had a similar experience yesterday, ps4 NA. Ran vet Scalecaller for that Zaan helm.
Went through 4 or 5 different tanks, but me (DD) the other DD, and the healer all stayed.
We finally got a tank who stuck it out and didn't drop group after one wipe, and he had never done the dungeon on normal, let alone vet. It took a few more tries, but we eventually got it down and we all walked away with our Zaan helmets, so no one has to see me begging for it from the Golden anymore!

I love those people. We all stayed in good spirits and joked around. Aside from the few tanks that left angrily, no one pointed fingers or placed any blame, and we came through in the end.
It could've been a nightmare, but it instead will be something I'll always remember.

See this is awesome. I am the kind of player that will stick around for as long as I possibly can. I'll drop if I actually have to leave, but other than that, I'll be on and stay in the group as long as I have time. It takes a lot to get me upset and I don't mind wiping until we learn together and get the job done. It's nice when you run into people like this who do the same.

Getting a good PUG group is great...but in the past year or so...has been few and far between...back in the day...when I actually ran PUGs...I actually finished vICP HM and vWGT HM in PUGs...

For vICP it was me and a buddy (both CP 300's), qued for random daily Vet and lo and behold we get ICP with healer with less CP than us...but he was a healer... we got a max CP tank...and he was awesome in skill and in teaching...He taught all of us the mechanics...all through text chat...he encouraged us...especially on the Flesh Atronarch boss...it took a few hours but we completed in HM...he never doubted us...then when we were done...he just sad GJ guys...and left the group... I still wish I could remember his gamer tag...
