Another Use For Housing (PvP Related)

I was thinking about how I use my Houses and what I would like to see to make them more fun for me and my friends as well as more useful. My Idea is this, the owner can toggle the property to open pvp combat. Meaning players could freely attack any other player, regardless of alliance, without a duel being used. This would allow for very flexible combat like 2 vs 2, multiple groups,1vX, role play murders/conflicts and fun games like king of the hill or last man standing. Of course, there would have to be some protective measures like it can't be turned on if anyone but the owner is present and anyone teleporting in would get a warning and chance to abort. I'm sure most abuses could be prevented. The idea needs to be flushed out but I think it provides two great things for the game. More Pvp Options and additional fun and purposes for houses. Thoughts?

    Ok, so... if this is implemented by ZeniMax:

    (1) I would kiss them;
    (2) I would build all sorts of add-ons to support this with the first being something akin to FortNite for ESO. Literally - I'm not even joking. I already have some of the code ready for it.

    P.S. If it's okay with you, I'd like to make a survey on this in the General forum to see what kind of traction it could get from the players...

    This would be cool. It would also give my Linchal Grand Manor more usage and attention. I already have a nice dueling arena and several skyshards and flags/standards set up as capture-points, haha. I'm an avid pvper already, so more options and ideas for fun are always welcomed. ;P

    I've wanted this so damn bad for so long. I have a 3 level hedge maze built in Serenity falls that desperately needs to be able to be turned into a pvp zone.

    I think this could be a cool idea. But there is a big issue that would have to be resolved first and it is one I am trying to get on ZoS' radar. There currently is no spell/ability collision on any of their furniture pieces.

    What this means is that any ability or spell that has a Target of "Ground" or "Area" simply falls through the furniture. Combatants using spells like these in a house that relies heavily on a space crafted by building block furniture pieces would be rendered almost entirely useless in a fight.

    I agree that this is a big issue even today and having it resolved would make for a PvP - and home arena design - experience that would be orders of magnitude more enjoyable. I would not necessarily hinge open housing PvP upon it being resolved; but most would likely agree: having this collision issue fixed would make the community very, very happy.

    Funny story, I found out about this collision issue after I built an Alinor arena in Earthtear. The amount of Culanda I used....well as you can imagine I was a little more than upset. lol

    What a bummer. Sorry to hear that. For what it's worth, I would wager that dozens of other people had a similar experience. I doubt that helps though... :neutral:

    It is all good, because I still am in love with it. Looks cool as all hell and I am not even finished with it yet. My hopes is that one day there will be proper collision on those floor pieces and then my arena will be 100% functional, 100% cool.

    BTW R_K, I would just like to take the time to thank you for your Essential Housing Tools. Without it building my arena would have been super difficult without the precision movement and grouping. So thank you very much for your efforts!
