After a normal run for the skillpoint it is off to the guides for vet and what is necessary for each role to do on the hardest difficulty. Much easier to do on console because pc has had time to make the guides.

I think success or failure in a pug is highly dependent on whether the group is serious about getting through or serious about draining the last wisps of smoke from the bong, paired with whether they all have the game sound and subtitles turned on.

No answer either way in the poll, because I'm in the middle. I like to have basic hints, but I don't go out and get the video and study it in detail.

I parse 40k dps on my main, which I understand is not very good in the current meta

LOL, what? 40K is "not very good"?! Sure, it's not good by the standards of competitive players, but what makes you think you think you need to be a competitive-level player in order to go into a dungeon blind?

I'm not a competitive player. My DPS is definitely not competitive, which is why I mostly tank trials these days. But for these dungeons, I go as a DD, because that's my main (and because you don't need two tanks like you do in a trial). And the people who I do dungeons with don't consider themselves competitive either, but we still managed to cleared the vet (non-HM) of both dungeons on the very first night of PTS and then got the HMs down later.

A lot of it is just trial and error and patience. Paying attention to what's going on, examining what's killing people, and coming up with a plan to deal with it. And, really, that process is the most fun part of new group PvE content.

I like to say I'm competitive, but really, I'm about average. My DPS on my main is the best it's ever been, but I want to start doing dps on some a my other toons because I've tired of the rotation.

40k is, of course, more than enough to clear any content. But I don't like to stop there. I want to challenge myself to break into the 50k range, I have the build and everything ready but I just need to do more practicing of the rotation. Naysayers who say dummy parses are completely worthless, begone! My practicing of the rotation on the dummy is essential for bringing my dps to the next level.

I will concede, blind running vet DLC dungeons with a group of other competent players sounds like a ton of fun. Something new to try.

    It's not recommended.

I mean, It's not recommended to go into a vet dlc dung blind. It is worth it to go into a normal dlc dung blind, the mechanics wouldn't prevent u from being able to beat it.

Going into a vet dlc dung blind is just a fool's errand

Someone has to be the first in...

Someone has to be the first in, true, which is why you wouldn't want to be the first in if you are pugging

But someone had to do them blind to write the guides, right? ;)
