I parse 40k dps on my main, which I understand is not very good in the current meta
LOL, what? 40K is "not very good"?! Sure, it's not good by the standards of competitive players, but what makes you think you think you need to be a competitive-level player in order to go into a dungeon blind?
I'm not a competitive player. My DPS is definitely not competitive, which is why I mostly tank trials these days. But for these dungeons, I go as a DD, because that's my main (and because you don't need two tanks like you do in a trial). And the people who I do dungeons with don't consider themselves competitive either, but we still managed to cleared the vet (non-HM) of both dungeons on the very first night of PTS and then got the HMs down later.
A lot of it is just trial and error and patience. Paying attention to what's going on, examining what's killing people, and coming up with a plan to deal with it. And, really, that process is the most fun part of new group PvE content.

I mean, It's not recommended to go into a vet dlc dung blind. It is worth it to go into a normal dlc dung blind, the mechanics wouldn't prevent u from being able to beat it.
Going into a vet dlc dung blind is just a fool's errand
