What if we took all mats and made them upgradeable? Here is what I mean:
You know the thousands of Ta runes that you have? What if you could upgrade them to Jejotas at a rate of 10 to 1? What about Jejotas to Denatas? What about Green tempers to Blue tempers?
Wouldnt this improve the health of the game by making all mats matter?

I have expressed similar ideas and I agree, it would also be good for the economy, you should also be able to break them back down into regular materials at cost.

    Ta's have value now...1gp each

back in the day venders would laugh at you if you tried to sell em'

but seriously that would cause ripple effect problems and devalue gold tier items way more than you may expect.

take ta's again at 10-1 if you have say 10000 ta's which is more realistic than you may think.
now you have 1000 jejotas , which becomes 100 denatas then 10 rekutas and ultimately 1 kuta

That doesn't sound too bad right? well if you have 10000 ta's you probably have 5000 jejotas 3000 denatas and 1000 rekutas already too.

and then suddenly everyone is using up the lower tiers and they become harder to find than the gold stuff. If you remember when housing first came out green resin price skyrocketed as everyone needed it, it was worth more than the blue or purple stuff for a while.
So any tinkering with these tiers can create new issues...these items do have value in crafting already.

I feel like nowadays they are basically worthless...while I would agree that there may be an initial shock, prices would stabilize. It would be an improvement to the economy in two major ways:
    1. It would raise the price of lower level mats, which would be beneficial.
    2. It would lower the price of gold level mats, which would make those much harder to get and much coveted mats more available.

I personally just don't understand why we have 0 gold mats. Like, for example, I can sell excessive Alkahest from my crafting bag to an npc merchant, but those trait stones, Ta's and food ingredients are worth nothing for some reason. Even diamonds are worth nothing lol.
If they would assign some small value to them it would be nice.

It would do the opposite, bc doing it would result in less items overall each time this is done. This would open up a lot of shortages in other areas. Would cause a spike and prices would rebalance. Prices would still be dictated by the same rules of supply and demand. You would atill be able to downgrade items. We know these items still have value in crafting that is why it works, you are giving up x> of one thing for y< less of another. So if say 10000 white mats made 1 green then 1 green would = 5000 when downgrading etc.

Hmmm... would it improve the game by making all mats matter, or would it devalue the game by making the higher mats people spent so much effort gathering suddenly worthless?
    I fear the latter...

As for what to do with the former... I am still hoping we might someday get "guild projects" which will require massive amounts of low-tier materials! That would be the place for those thousand of "Ta" runes!

If you have more Ta than Jejota, you're not doing a lot of enchanting writs. Those burn through my Ta collection just slightly slower than they come in. I have tons of Jejota and Denata though.

    just a little tip:

    - TA used in crafting dailyes

    - low level equipment mats can be used for doing low-lv writs so you're not going to run out of endgame mats too

fast while doing crafting dailyes on all account. the only diffirence is you won't receive writs (drop chance on non-master

crafter char is really low) but all surveys / gold mats still gonna appear in your daily rewards. moreover pure gold reward is

absolutely same for tier 1 and endgame-tier mats.

I actually ran out of Ta the other day.
    I couldn't believe it.
Thought it was a bug or something.

But nope. I somehow actually ran out of Tas.
