A few questions

For over 4 years, I just found out, how do we tell time in Tamriel? Is there somewhere that says the date and/or time?

I made game a bit dark with my video settings. Now it's nice and dark outside, so I am wondering, do we have torches? I never needed them so never thought about it. I don't think we do but I thought I needed to ask to make sure.

Last question is I am still not sure how to use the Outfit system. Where do I go to start it? How do I select what I want to put in there? I am afraid of messing up. I have watched the YouTube videos and read some sites but still don't get it. Any tips for my old simple mind?

    Hey there!
No time per se except with day to night. No torches available either.

As far as the outfit system there are stations where the other crafting stations are, usually by the clothing station or alchemy station where you can select styles and colors for armor, weapons or outfits. It costs gold or outfits change tokens.
    Hope this helps!

There are some addons that will help you tell time, but if you are looking for how long until the “1st of Rain’s Hand” or some other kind of Tamriel calendar I don’t think that can be determined because the days change so fast in the game.

There is a torch emote /torch and there are mementos that give you light for a good long while. Off the top of my head I’ve used Finvir’s Trinket and Almalexia’s Lantern.

The outfit system. One character on the account must know how to craft in a style (let’s say Minotaur) and the rest of the characters can then make their armor look like Minotaur without having to craft it. So my crafter knows Minotaur chests. My new alt can go to the outfit station (previously dye station) and choose the Minotaur medium style to cover up his chest slot (instead of it showing the style of his dropped armor). I can also dye it. It costs in game gold to save it. Now as long as I have outfit 1 selected (outfits are chosen from the collections menu default U) no matter what my chest piece I actually am wearing it will always look like Minotaur medium style. You can also always preview your known styles from the collections menu. So if my crafter learned Sapiarch shoes yesterday I can preview what those shoes look on my alt at any time. Outfit system is also how you recolor weapons. If I have a staff in Argonian style equipped I can use the outfit station to make it look like a Nord style staff with white wood and white metal. If I have a 2h maul that is Barbaric style because it drops that way, I can have the outfit station change it to a 2h axe in Soul Shriven style. The only restriction is what motifs you know.

Thank you so much both. I didn't know that. So glad I asked.

While they might be available there (honestly haven’t checked whether you can set them), it’s quicker to go to your character menu (default C) where the selection is right on the first and only tab, in the upper right. You can also select which outfit you’re using in the outfit station in the upper left, above the armor and dye slots.

That's actually helpful. I had made the assumption that purchasing a "look" at an outfit station would apply it to the armor I was wearing (without changing any stats) and that I would have to keep it in inventory if I wanted to switch back. Glad to know it is applied to the outfit slot and not the actual piece. Or, at least, it is good to know when I get around to buying additional outfit slots... which will NOT be before Psijic Grand Villa releases.

Also good to know there is some lighting that lasts for a while. I'll have to look those up!
