Please mark racial motif books when known

Currently you can use racial motif books for styles you already know, effectively wasting them since they're consumed in the process. Since there is no way of determining what styles you know other than to run to a crafting station, please make these work like other recipes and mark them as Known, preferably not allowing you to consume it.

@uninclined No because accidentally double clicking something at a vendor or if your because mouse is a bit sensitive happens and *** comments are bad for everyone.

This isn't an issue. When I attempt to read a motif I already know, a message appears in the top right corner saying "You already know this style" or something similar. I'm not sure what the issue you're experiencing is. It won't consume a book you've already read.

ditto, it does tell you when you already know it.

It has always told me when I already read it, during beta and during early access. Forum posts like these are what forces developers to really dumb down games. I.E. During quests I see hints like "Wait for (NPC) to open door" as you are watching the npc open the door in the 3 seconds as he/she walks over to it.

It won't let you re-consume it but it is annoying to pull it out of guild bank, exit the bank, attempt to use it, and then put it back. That is a bit annoying. I also think that it would be nice if the motifs would end up in your lore book archive.

In defense of the OP, Motif books don't show your own race motif as "already known". My Khajiit found 3 Khajiit Motif books, and each showed the "not yet known" line in the description (or whatever the actual wording is). I didn't want to take the chance that it would consume the book if I actually read it, and simply traded them away.

I'm sorry, but that's even worse if you don't remember what race your own character is. =)

Hahah... no, I know my own race. My point was that ZOS should have auto-marked your own race's Motif as "already known." Its little details like that which should have been caught by their QA team.

it would be enough to put them under book next to your achievements.
