The dungeons aren't hard, the community is toxic.

When I say the dungeons aren't hard, I don't say that with any kind of arrogance - I play the game off and on so I am often having to catch up myself with newer things. The problem is (and this is what I mean by toxic) the community is brutal on itself. New people are brutalized, when you don't know a mechanic you are shamed or booted (usually both), patience is rare and being a condescending/toxic is the go to interaction.

Just yesterday I was in a Vet Dungeon where someone was insta booted for being at 200 CP. Selfishly I looked by it because I just wanted to get the dungeon done. Next person comes in - everything is going fine - we get to the boss and he starts to ask a question about mechanics.

    Tank pulls.

He makes a mistake and we can't recover from it.

No biggie to me. I start to type out an answer to his question.

    Tank pulls.

Same thing happens, instantly I see a vote kick come up with "I hope someone is your family dies of cancer". I vote to kick the guy and leave too. Such causal horribleness is grotesque.

This kind of thing I have seen far too often every time I come back to the game. There is zero compassion for newer people, no one wants to teach anyone anything along with (seemingly) no one wants to ask questions for fear of being booted or raked over the coals.

Taking the time to explain things would go a long way as a whole for every player in the game. Not watering down dungeons.

People are way too quick to kick other players on this game. That's something else that makes pugging vet DLC dungeons such a PITA on this game. Because typically experienced players aren't willing to be patient and instantly turn on other players who may not fully understand the fight - so the drama ensues.

I don't mind adding complexities to a boss encounter. But they need to be distinguishable and readily able to understand.

Honestly, Wolf Hunter has by far the easiest DLC dungeons in a long while. Moon Hunter Keep does require a small bit of effort but isn't hard by any stretch of the imagination on Normal mode and March of Sacrifices is almost insultingly easy on Normal that you would swear it was a base game dungeon with how face roll it is (at least IMO). The most challenging part of March was trying not to be annoyed by how often the Indrik teleported or hid in the mist while the NPC with you shouted to hide and follow the wisp, which a 3rd grader can easily do; hell, I let my 7 year old cousin do the fight while I went to the restroom and after telling him how to sneak, he got past it just fine so I fail to see how ANYONE can't do that dungeon other than sheer laziness.

I actually agree totally. The new ones are quite easy on normal. Much better than what went before. Maybe still a tad long though.

I was under the impression that all dlc dungeons were not pug friendly, or at least the newest dlc dungeons. I absolutely hate dlc dungeons for more reasons than one. Non pug friendly and non casual friendly. They release new monster helms with the dlc dungeons that are basically impossible to get. I still don't have earthgore, zaan or any of the new helms. Most dps guides say to use zaan, how am I supposed to use it if I cannot get it?

I'll be waiting for hundreds of years before either of these helms are in the golden trader... :s

I did scalecaller peak on normal in a complete random. We cleared it fine. For vet it would be challenging unless everyone is familiar with the fight. It is not about it being a pug but about everyone in the group knowing what to do.

The DLC dungeons that have been around awhile I have pugged often and rarely with an issue of a player not knowing what to do.

I do not like DLC dungs cause of 1 thing... they are 2 long compared to other dungeons and tbh beside the motifs like in fang lair they offer no good rewards - and I can just farm gold to buy the motifs so why waste time ...
