HDR looks odd

Hi I just wondered if anyone else was having a issue with eso in HDR? On my HDR LG tv ESO looks, well awful! The brightness is so dark and colours very very cartoony especially blues and reds. Changing HDR brightness in the game options also makes zero difference.

Other HDR enabled games look great its only with ESO that it just looks terribly optimised.

As a work around I have been turning HDR off on my PS4 each time I play eso but that’s a bit annoying as for all other games it works well.

I can only speak about Xbox, but 4K looks washed out without it. And yeah it does look different, colour super bright but I like it, but I did calibrate my TV

It's worth checking our your colour calibration settings online or a forum like AVFORUM as it makes a huge difference to setup correct brightness and turn off all the processing you don't need for better fast action

Nope. It works like it should now. The previous HDR implementation was broken and oversaturated. Many of us complained about it and they actually fixed it! Thanks, Zenimax Online.

It looks like sepia was applied to everything on my end. It looks horrible, not “fixed”

The UI and loading screens are fine, just not the game world

The change to HDR was intended to aid in some overly-saturated assets found throughout the game but it had some unintended consequences. The thread linked below has information regarding the issues with HDR.

Hi @ZOS_BillE the question stands tho is the intention to shut HDR off totally? As that's quite the changes.

Or was the intention to do something to it, and now its gone off. Which is gunna get fixed.

As non HDR 4K isn't great, very washed out.
