Bad enough for us Oceanic players dealing with 300+ ping but it has been woeful over the past few days, tonight 2400+ ping. Sometimes I don't know why I bother paying for this game.

Same for me, at Singapore here. Can't connect to server most of the time and when I could, it will dc due to 999+ ping every single time.

It's not their fault you live somewhere with terrible internet
Unless you are willing to be a mindless sycophant and/or coddle others due to their insecurities prepare to be harrased by the Orwellian enforcers on these forums. You should also try to refrain from using any words more complex than those used by a small child due to the fact that said enforcers have made it clear that their vocabulary pool is aenemic.

In theory, the technical problem is the number of 'hops' between the ZOS servers and the 'terrible internet' in the Asia Pacific region. In practice, it's harder to isolate all the many variables of the problem.

The point being made here is that a locally-based server (Tokyo?, Singapore? Brisbane?) may resolve this complaint.
    Maybe not.

I'm sure that ZOS has done; and is, responding to their own risk assessment of the situation.

    Same i get 250 - 999+ a lot.. massive spikes all over..

One thing i did do was change my DNS server in my router, one DNS gave me 400 ping the other gives 250... why? who the .... knows...

Check which DNS servers your isp uses and test some in your router/modem.

I live in Hong Kong, and I have been playing ESO since 2017 april and most of the time ping is around 230
Since mid august this year the ping rise to 300 and sometimes reach 500 and 999+ which is unplayable.
    I lost incentive to play

    Should probably get better internet.

Another thing that'll help is to play on a wired connection.

There has no "better internet" most ping is restrained on physical distance and the server quality.
Since I've played ESO for 1.5 years with stable 230 ping the only reason it goes to 300 - 999+ right now is the server.

Youll notice it during peak times, the servers can be a little goofy but sometimes you are limited by your region

This is 2018 and eso is the only game I play have more then 50 ping, because it has no asia server (for whatever reason to not put one since this is almost half of the earth's mmo player base)

And some zones ping more than others depending on pop I notice. To be fair I do live half a world away from the server but yet again they do market the game here with no regional server. This game is like drugs why do they make it so damn addictive otherwise I would have given up on it long ago with the very *** ping. Oh well ESO life goes on I will just have to take an arrow to the knee and put up with it.

You are so ignorant do you even know Hong Kong and Singapore are currently at the top rankings of internet speed in the world?

Yet your connections are complete and utter garbage to every game, sounds like your ISP sold you a fairy tale and you bought into it. If you live somewhere known for bad internet then don't be surprised when you end up having bad times online.

The way I see it I've been w the game so long, just will keep playing. Even with the lag and poor server connection etc. Personally, I love that we have a sizeable Aussie pop, and hope you guys all continue playing despite the lag. You're an integral part of the population!

Wow my ping is lower then 50 to every game other then ESO's *** server and there has no "fairy tale" on connection speed if you have a basic idea how Optical fibre broadband works. Maybe you still using some dial up modem or something so that your ISP can "sold you a fairy tale". Or maybe you are 15 years old which have yet to sign a internet contract from yourself.

Also you lack of basic comprehension about what I type.

"your connections are complete and utter garbage to every game" <- ?

"live somewhere known for bad internet" <- so Hong Kong currently rank 4 in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Internet_connection_speeds is "somewhere known for bad internet"? XD

Next time function your brain cells before you type some nonsense so you don't embarrass yourself.

Imagine thinking connection speeds are the only thing that matter when connecting to servers thousands of miles away, just imgine being that dense but then also having the audacity to call somebody else ignorant.

It's 2018, if you haven't managed to grasp the concept that Oceania has and most likely always will have terrible connections to global servers then you have some serious mental issues (which were made blatantly apparent by the laughable ragepost from one such person).

This is a genius here. Even if you're internet is slow, apparently you will know about things such as this

You were the one typing these nonsense do you have short term memory loss or something? I have already stated physical distance and server quality matters the most to pings then you come up with some "your own connection sucks and you live in a 3rd world country which is well known to have 56k dial up modem in 2018 or something"

The truth is you had zero fact and knowledge to back up your conversations then you steal my point to argue against me is funny as hell to see :)

Also Hong Kong is located in Asia not Oceania which I learnt when I was 8. Most popular games have dedicated servers in asia. Even back in 1997 there was a mmo called Ultima online which has korean server. I bet you weren't even born in 1997 according to your superior common sense on basic geography

You could try to use VPN connection to lower your Ping, and also change your DNS server`s to google(most reliable).
Fast internet does NOT mean low ping and lagless experience.
It does not matter if your speed is 20,50,100 mbps or even 1 gbps when you have terrible latency.

In my country Bulgaria, i pay 8$ monthly for 100 mbps international speed, and we have low pings almost everywhere:
for example connections to countries in Europe have between 30-50 ping, connections to Russia have 100-125 ping,
Connections to US have between 150-200 ping.

OP, try the VPN mudfish. It’s worked wonders for me stabilizing my ping and reducing the hops from Bangkok, Thailand to the NA servers. That 2400 ping probably isn’t anything on ZOS end unless lots of people from all over are reporting it. That data has to go a long way and if you’re routing through SE Asia the Asia Pacific gateway is notorious for having issues.

So we have one kid raging and posting absolute nonsense (including trying to argue semantics, there's a reason Asia and Oceania are pretty much always grouped together but he can't figure it out because he's blinded by his overflowing emotions which have left him resorting to throwing pathetic ad hominems) then another popping up to try to take a shot at America even though I get connections to their servers perfectly fine.
