Because chat settings are from 2014 and AoE settings are from 2018(Possibly 2017, can't remember).

Point is they didn't retroactively apply this change to all setting categories.

Why is there no option for any custom text colors on console? Let alone account wide.

it's ridiculous that after years, chats for different guilds are the same exact color and there is no way to change them, let alone filter.

Account wide guild chat colors would be great - I know it's a pain but getting the exact same colors across 8 toons is a pain and having different ones on different toons is confusing.

Yeah, it'll be one more thing to remember to set. There are several other preferences that are not account wide. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it. I've just gotten used to having to review all settings every time I make a new character.

But it's not even like you can copy and paste the hex for the color you're using.. you have to literally use the sliders to try to make the colors as similar as possible. So stupid.

I do like how some settings are character specific, and others are account wide. However regarding this issue, the guild chat colors really should be account wide.

But the best possible solution imo would be to add a toggle for guild tab colors for either being character specific, or account wide. Even though I’m not sure anyone uses different colors for different characters, I mean you never know.

Just add a toggle, everybody wins.

15 characters... having to remember the exact color I changed each toon too... not fun... lol. Great addition, poor implementation lol.

If you're looking a response like, "it's a bug" or "we'll make it account wide with next patch," well I wouldn't spend too much time waiting. It's been like that for the past 4 years on PC. Only thing is we have value input boxes, so hopefully you eventually get at least that much, if not an outright update to make them account wide.

that might be true, but i think this particular one seems very straightforward concerning which side of the line it should be on. the way people (i study things like this; it isn't just me) perceive colors and their connotations, especially in text, is a tough thing to go back and forth on. it feels like re-wiring your brain to switch something around that's become natural to instantly perceive a certain way and then change it to a different thing. if the color indicators on item quality suddenly went red>orange>yellow>green>blue i'm sure there would be an uproar. luckily this is something we can fix; it just feels like a silly amount of work to do.

have you ever met someone who spent years of their adult life not using sunglasses, but then (maybe out of concern for protecting their vision) felt the need to start wearing them? the level of frustration and stress regarding the forced shift in understanding their new perception is difficult to ignore, though difficult to communicate. this is similar.

again, luckily i can ameliorate this by changing it on all my characters at once. the initial shift will be jarring but worthwhile, but it's much better to do it only once. it's time for work now, but i know that once i get home tonight i'll be spending about an hour taking photos of my main's preferences and then trying to approximate those on all the other characters.

then i'll probably never talk about it again until they fix it and it's my turn again to say "good idea!"

that's a bummer. yeah i was excited too, but i hope they change it to account settings. i haven't done the thing yet about copying it across all my characters. it's kind of kept me from spending much time on alts except for real quick the thing i switched over for. i'm lazy though. but i haven't heard anybody express anything but disappointment that it isn't account-wide, and i've talked with a few dozen people about it in chat.

i hope it's in the Murkmire update, but i didn't see any PTS gamepad notes.
