100 000 is a lot of gold for me. So I appreciate it from Zenimax that I usually complain about. I believe I am fair and complain when needed but I will also praise them when they deserve it. Here they deserve it. It's not too low and it's not too high.

As I said before, this can be account locked money. So no sharing among other accounts. So mule accounts have no use for this.

Also this is free money. So to complain about getting something for free, just show that person's character.

Also it's free. It doesn't cost Zenimax anything. It's virtual. It's made of nothing. So of course it can be given away for free. Just like giving the game for free on the weekend. It costs Zenimax nothing. No physical product exchanged so no real money exchanged.

Also how does it hurt the "economy"? That would mean people are BUYING more stuff. So vendors can sell more stuff because people are buying more now.

Is it pocked change for you and you are complaining it's not enough or just saying it's pocket change? Good for you. I hope your E-peen is better now. Is it pocket change for you and you say it's good, then I say thank you for understanding of those less fortunate of you.

I think people forget others play the game for FUN and don't like to grind. So Zenimax giving people who don't have much time, don't like to grind or what ever reason a little bonus is great. People don't have to play your playstyle. You want to grind and play hours on end, good for you, I am happy for you, BUT DON'T put those on others. Let people play the way they want that Zenimax let's people play the way they want.
Not my quote but I love this saying

100k seems a bit excessive. Are they really hurting for log in numbers that bad to give away that much gold?

I won’t be getting it this month. I will be flying home for a week and won’t be able to log in. What a shame.

100k isn't a lot. You can easily make that amount in 1-2 hours of farming.

And more enticing login rewards are needed if you want people to log in every day.

Where do you farm that lets you make 100k in 1-2 hours? Because that sounds difficult to me.

Maybe if I got really lucky with drops. Otherwise I'd like to know where you go that lets you consistently farm that much in an hour. That would be useful information.

Raw materials. Just run around any zone at max speed picking up everything. Prices are down on all mats due to botting, but you can still easily make 100k in less than 2 hours.

I"ll have to try that then. Maybe get me some swift jewelry with the speed mundus. Thanks for answering.

If you get lucky with wanted over land drops then you can make that much. Just sold a golded out nm staff for 300k yesterday. So if you were farming deshaan pub dungeon or any other place with sought after sets then it averages that much.

Otherwise just farming a pub dungeon nets you around 20k an hour, sometimes more depending on drops for your merchant. It use to be much higher per hour but ever since they swapped to invigorating it took a hit. Unless of course someone found a super secret farming area..

By the way, instant respawning chests/heavy sacks are still in the game. I haven't been to the new place but as of last week there were some active.

Sure, if you get lucky with drops I could see it. Otherwise 20k an hour sounds more feasible. I've spent more than my fair share of time in the crypts and those staffs aren't easy to come by.

It seems he harvests raw materials for his gil.

1: Put a crown crate on daily reward, then basically no crown store involving at all.

2: Put 100k gold on daily reward and maybe some players will trade gold for crown store stuff.

    Hmm..

As a poor PvP player I'll probably take advantage of this but playing ESO lately or even turning it on has become a chore.

Yeah I feel like that doing writs every other day is a chore as well, they need to find a way so we can do them on one character without having to relog for how many dailies it adds up tbh, and just multiple that daily outcome by how many characters are eligible for that daily so we will only have to do it once daily.

So say if you have all 15 chars and all eligible to do that daily , the outcome will be 15x the original amount in one turn in.

Kinda funny watching some people panic over 100k.

Which you can easily make in a few days just selling stolen goods.

Or in a single day selling stuff on a guild trader.

    Or doing dailies.

And you have to log in for 28 days in a row to get it.

And if you miss just a few days at any point you're not getting it.

The rewards are per account, not per character. So unless there are a bunch of people with 10 accounts, I'm not too worried.

Even if you could the economy is already *** with multi-billionare trade guilds running everything and average Joes having nothing

No they don’t... Trade guilds are made of average joes

Good god it’s like you never even tried to interact with a trade guild before

Go join one, sell your extra mats, extra motifs, extra gear, it’s that easy

I'm in trade guilds. I love them in the people in them. But sometimes I'm wary of where the donations and such actually go.

You mean you don’t already know they go toward trade fees? Because that’s where they go. They probably also go toward your main guild house full of set stations so everyone in the guild can freely use them for master writs.

Are you actually active in that trade guild, talk to people, visit the guild house? Or do you have it muted and only ever interact with it to list items? Because currently it sounds like the latter >_>

You see, there's a flaw in this logic.
If this reward gold is account locked money and can't be sent to another accounts via bank or mail, what's the point of it?
It sounds like then you wouldn't be able to purchase anything with it either, since otherwise the money moves from buyer to seller. So technically this gold wouldn't be account locked after all...

And this is exactly how this logic can be dodged. If people have several accounts in use, they will just sell item X for 100 K for themselves and there we go, most of the money moved to main account, just the minimal tax would be cut out.
This "account locked gold" does not provide any kind of solution, unless you want gold which can't be traded either, so only thing you could do with is ... uhh...buying repairt kits from normal vendors? Halleluja.

I'll be afk for 7 - 8 days. I'm not going to get several items (not sure where to look to see next month's rewards...in game it only shows I have all of this month and there isn't a link to next month).

100k would be about 1/5 of what I have built up since I started playing a couple of months ago. It would be nice to have, but I'm not going to be grumpy I missed it either.

100k seems a bit excessive. Are they really hurting for log in numbers that bad to give away that much gold?

When you can manufacture gold out of thin air, 100k isn't going to bother you when you give it away.

If they are doing it because they are desperate for players, then it would make more sense to award 100k for each time you get lag kicked from Cyrodiil or have to relog because all the textures disappeared.

It's the former. And I trust the main one, for sure. Especially because they're pretty laid back about sales and stuff. But the other one I have? I don't really trust them all that much.

Especially because if I can have one guild that doesn't really do much outside of a handful of raffles and auctions to maintain their Rhawl trader, why do the others wring you for gold like a towel?

100k good is nothing in this game , just golding out a sword almost depletes that amount. Theory crafting a new build can easily go for 200k.

While it sounds like a lot to some it’s not, so I don’t see an issue with it.

    @Jeremy

I use Fiord + Darkstride gear + Steed mundus to reach the speed cap (all well-fitted), no need for swift jewllery. I then manually cast Rapid Maneuvers for the major expedition buff. There are other sets you can use too (Jailbreaker or Coward's come to mind).

If you're on PC, you should download Harvest Map. Read through all the instructions to learn how to use all the features. Step #11 is especially important because it reveals all the nodes in the game for you.

If you're on console, just max out the keen eye passive.

Then of course you'll need a trading guild in a prime location too so you can sell everything quickly. The best towns are Rawl'kha, Mournhold, Wayrest, Elden Root, and Vivec City.

I'm not overly worried about players logging into multiple accounts to collect the gold rewards. More disturbing would be botters logging into hundreds or thousands of accounts and collecting a billion gold at the end of the month. That's what would upset the economy, not a very small number of players with multiple accounts. All other rewards have been bound to the account so no worries there. This is the first time a completely unbound reward has been offered. ZOS needs to be careful about the edge cases.

Yes this is part of the issue.
In my posts in this discussion I was referring to bots accounts too(in general but not in direct words).
An unknown number of bot accounts will get the 100K gold daily reward each too.
For example, if there are 20,000 bots on PC EU server and each will get 100k gold, that is: 2,000,000,000 gold.
All the billions of gold from hundreds of thousands of accounts will reach the in-game market and will greatly disrupt the in-game trading.

Not griping about this 100k gold reward, because I am deeply invested in acquiring the last 23 Motif Sets that I need for the big crafting achievement. I only care about 2 titles in the game, and the other does not cost me a cent (unless you count time as a currency). That 100k will cover maybe 4 pieces of one of the more expensive set pieces, but every little bit helps.

Appreciate this as a "thanks for playing ESO" reward. Dunno why so many people are bitching about this. Free stuff! What's not to like?

It's a nice bonus. FYI, if you log into one max character each day and do all seven writs each day, you'll have 100k gold a week before you unlock this reward. It seem big, but it's not overly so big that it competes with even the minimum amount of daily gameplay.

For those who have ESO+, writs are great. For those who don't, doing writs is painful due to managing mats.
