Why swords on a Bomb Blade?

Vicious Death swords are around 250k right now. I spent 1mil AP at the Epic Gear Merchant and didn't get a single sword. I did get inferno and resto staves.

So why do I need the swords? I look at peoples skill bars and don't see them using any Dual Wield skills.

Each sword you use increases your damage done by 2.5% thanks to twin blade and blunt so it's best to have an extra 5% damage when you are trying to get as much damage as you can to proc your VD.

And you already answered the question yourself ... they are a rare find in a loot table has all the Vicious Death gear to choose from.

That's if they haven't been discontinued due to "smart loot" like Marksman Greatswords.

That’s actually not the reason. If you wanted upfront damage you would use lightning staff front bar inferno back bar and use eye of flame with lightning Destro equipped. You use DW because it boosts both Bomb and VD damage

Blockade is good too for chokes and building ult in groups too. I dont know how full bombers bars are build I've seen some magdens do well with it.

So pretty much what I said. It increases the damage that your Bomblade does not just AOE damage.

Don't forget that DW just straight up gives better damage stats = more damage.

A greatsword of VD goes for about 10K on PC NA.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were able to proc both sword enchants before the bomb I think DW swords would come out ahead. But most bombers do not, as far as I know. So does that make 2H equally viable for bombblades?

plus you dont have to slot a destro ability to get the bonus

Not to mention DW gives access to Nirnhorned Mainhand, yields the same result as a nirnhorned Staff, plus a Sharpened Off-hand, giving ~2% MagPen over a staff as well as having similar SpellDamage to a 2H.

Maybe quick cloak? I mean, If i was a bomblade, using quick cloak immediately after the bomb makes sense to mitigate some AoE dmg and get major expedition
