I thought he was going to complain about the last fight with the husk where the tank is actually pretty useless, but it ends up being a L2P issue...
Closest player to the portal gets drawn in, so pick a DPS to stand on that side before you start the fight.
Sorry OP, but once you figure this one out you have 2 more fights to go before you can rant.

Tanks do what 900-1400 on a light attack and at most 2200 on a heavy, Then being surrounded by multiple enemies that must die in order to rejoin the team seems counter productive, instead of selecting one of the DPS. I don't understand your choice here. I dont think Ill being doing these kinds of fights until something is changed.

Clearly an L2P issue, (primarily at the Spawn of Mephala by the looks of it) the only thing that needs changing, Is you. Because during the fight against the Spawn of Mephala, the portal will pull in whoever is standing closest to it, only one player in the group will be sucked in, the portal will drag another player in should the player inside already ends up dying or manages to escape after killing the spider mobs within.
Also, If dealing damage with a heavy attack is your bread and butter of tanking, get a good team together and farm the “Curse of Doylemish” heavy armour set from Scalecaller Peak.
Curse of Doylemish
- 2 items: Adds 14-1206 Maximum Health
- 3 items: Adds 14-1206 Maximum Health
- 4 items: Adds 1-129 Spell Damage
- 4 items: Adds 1-129 Weapon Damage
- 5 items: When using a fully-charged melee Heavy Attack on a taunted monster or any enemy who is stunned or immobilized, you will deal a bonus 140-12040 Physical Damage. This effect can occur once every 7 seconds.
