ZOS add steal-able set pieces.

I just thought it'd be a good idea, it would help noobs get set gear, also make the random pieces of gear you can steal actually worth something. Plus it would cause players to go launder their items which most players imo just ignore the entire selling stolen items/laundering system. Most of us have enough gold we don't care about paying a bounty for accidentally stealing something, let alone pickpocketing and selling stuff to the den to get gold. Also this method of obtaining gear could be used for a potential set's theme.

It is certainly an interesting idea.
Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels. But their magic sparkles in nature.

    No, it's a bad idea.

What is a level 14 character going to do with a CP160 Maelstrom staff.

Set pieces can be stolen from thieve’s caches.

Why not scale versions of it across a few levels -- say, 30 - 50 - CP160? It would keep people going after it at different stages of progression.

Also, make the set only drop from NPCs with a lower base percentage of successful pickpocketing. And make the highest-level version only drop from pickpocketing guards. The object is to reward players for building up their stealth and legerdemain skill to counter the increasing risk.

The simplest way would be to make it a CP160 set that only drops from guards, but it might be more interesting and challenging to make it so that, say, at least 3 pieces of a level 50 version of the set is required to tip the chances far enough in your favor to make it possible to pickpocket a guard for the CP160 versions -- because it will only drop on the third pick. >:)

This can happen anyway. I found a CP160 sword the other day (my char was around level 30). It seems some higher level character picked the lock on a chest and then left it there.

Maelstrom and Master weapons would obviously be excluded.

Why would a level 14 pick up CP160 maelstrom staff to begin with? First of all stolen loot is scaled like everything else in game to my knowledge. Second, in my personal opinion maelstrom drops should be even more RNG intensive because I spent days grinding for certain traits that can be transmuted now >:(

Something I thought they would of added with TG was treasure vaults...in various cities have a Wealthy home have a treasure vault that has various security measures that you have to get through to get to a Reward chest...essentially a thieves delve.
