One of the reasons this is a top shelf MMO compared to others is the insanely beautiful artwork

I don't know how you people do to play this game with high video settings... I have almost disabled everything, and it's barely running above 30fps in dungeon (GTX 1080 btw)... This game doesn't like my PC for some reasons

Good to see some positivity on the forums.

And personally I think only The Witcher 3 surpasses this game graphically on PC.

... as well as Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed: Origins, Black Desert Online, Battlefield 1, Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Forza Motorsport 7.

I know you said personally, but unless you haven't played a lot of games on PC there are quite a few that surpass ESO graphically.

I am so jealous of you PC peeps, do the PS4 Pro graphics come anywhere close?

I must say that I've seen screenshots where the graphics don't look quite as good as I see on PC. I'm not even using a decent monitor either, just a plain old flat screen.

Normally I dont care about graphics but last night I hopped on my xbox to play some monster hunter after playing ESO all day and my eyes about melted.

    We're seriously spoiled on PC.

Yes we are. I use to play on Xbox. When I streamed it to my computer I was shocked to see how much more beautiful ESO was on the One X. Now I play on PC because of some mods I can't live without. Actually one, the mini map. Now I play on a bigger monitor and hooked up the Xbox One X to it. Still great, but the PC is still nicer.

I think more of the problem is not the console but the TV its self. So console games are made TV output. Just like when I put ESO from my laptop to TV it just looked like Xbox One.

Usually I rather like great game play over graphics and I prefer my Xbox BUT now seeing ESO playing on medium to high settings, at 30ish to 40ish FPS it's just more enjoyable to play on my laptop now. Going back to Xbox with no mods, I just can't do it.

I don't think its the tv. I play my computer and xbox on my tv and I can see the difference like night and day. It is definitely the graphics limitations of the console.

Not that I'm complaining. Consoles are marketed that way really. Efficient, low cost (compared to high powered custom pc rigs anyway) and available to all.

The downside of course is you have to upgrade your console every few years whereas my custom pc will be good to go for muuuuch longer.

it does look great but 40fps in town or at a doleman SUCKS when you have 144hz monitor, i7-8700 and GTX1080Ti.....something aint right

This is typically what you get if you forgot to put a (cheap) AIO watercooling on that awesome cpu and run it OC @ 5ghz with the "high performance" power profile enabled in windows and intel speedstep disabled in bios.

the second you do that low 40fps is history permanently.

Agreed, the game in 1080p looks good but you dont realise how good it is till you try 4k for the first time.

ok after having read so many good things about reshade over the past months and some of the mods for reshade like this 'Neat Perfection' one I decided to finally try it, especially since I recently upgraded my pc monitor while my pc was already about the best money can buy for this game. For the record I have always been running ultra settings for this game before and after. So, after trying out this mode it last night and tweaking it I must say....

WOOOW, just WOOOOOOOOOW!! I'm totally blown away!! This game really is next-gen graphics all of a sudden. Once you disable general guassianblur and reduce the DOFblurradius to minimum the game suddenly looks crisp clear 167ppi at 4K resolution both on the chars in foreground as well as on all textures on buildings and surroundings in the background. And then to see all that in motion with the hightend contrast with FALD in action while g-sync keeps the fps tear free and smooth between 89 and 120fps constantly is just unbelievable!! Screenshots don't even do it justice, you need to see it in action in order to believe and feel it.

important sidenote: My gpu usage used to be around 60-80% in afterburner but now that the full graphical potential is unleashed by my new monitor with it's higher 4K resolution (as opposed to 1440p) and even more by this mod now it becomes clear that my custom loop watercooled Titan XP no longer suffices. In fact, even though it's running overclocked at 2000+Mhz and not being thermal throttled Afterburner shows 1 continuous flat line at 100% for gpu usage now :):) In other words my gpu is currently on it's knees so I will probably upgrade to a custom watercooled 2080ti soon to remove the bottleneck. I'm so thrilled !
