I heard a lot of different responses to this question over years for people, but would like to hear more.

    Mechanics that aren't OHKOs everytime.

Apply a DoT, Damage Down, stop the player from using any ability, ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING ELSE but another OHKO mechanic.

Do you feel their are too many one shots? If their weren't one shots would content be too easy?

The fact that your random dps guys can turn even the simplest non dlc Vet into something very interesting
    PC EU
    Betty Breeze - Magwarden
    Hunts S'hitblades - Stamplar
    Aschavi - Magplar

I like single target burst healing. The more I have to think and pay attention the better. Healing in this game is just too boring because it's too easy with 180° burst heals. Then you have things like Earth Gore which burst heals for you. The less I have to try the less I'm having fun.

In dungeons, I don't feel like healing feels fun, since most groups can run 3 dps + tank and faceroll thru vet dlc and even most hardmodes.

When i healed trials as a templar, it was fun synchronizing nova on specific fights to help dps survive, but that was long ago, nowadays the power creep demands healers to run warhorn

Most dungeons can be done in 4 DDs ;)

Why do you think that is so? Are you happy it is that way? How would you change it if you could or wanted to?

I love healing in PVP, whether that's large organized groups, small organized groups, or zergs of PUGs. There's something really fun about healing and keeping my teammates alive despite the best efforts of other players to kill them. I've done some PVE healing with a templar and a warden and those were fun. But nothing ever compared to the sheer adrenaline rush of keeping my teammates alive under heavy pressure from living, thinking, human opponents in PVP.

Because of perfect game design obv.
Offense is the best defense here and the amount of self-healing, that any DD have, mostly negates the healer role. Add huge shields and you mostly don't need a tank.
Am I happy? Not. Can't say I'm upset too.
And, honestly, I didn't want to change this - not because I like it, but because me (and most of players) got used to it.

The size of the heals and one good Templar keeping a group of four alive against a full raid of subpar players .

One Shots are not mechanics. Just a cheap work around to avoid making real mechanics.

What makes healing fun to me is I feel like a force multiplier. Like I make every one around me better. Seeing those big numbers that the DPS put up and knowing I am a large part of that, that is what healing means to me.

Compared to other roles its the unpredictability. I don't just settle into a rotation, i have to keep an eye on the other players health bars and be ready to react.. sometimes before the damage comes down. I can't just spam abilities because i need to have a minimiun amount of mag ready to emergency heal.

Being needed and wanted. The one shot mechanics are BS I think. I'm fine with pressure in fact that's what I like is pressure to do the job of healing and not resing form one shot mechanics.

Please give Templars back some form of major mending in our class skills.

There's other ways to make content challenging without making everything a one shot.
I personally prefer mechanic heavy fights that, while not making the mechanic a 1 shot, if failed too often will result in a wipe. Things like Damage Down on players, Shields on the boss, heavy DoTs, etc. all put stress on the team but doesn't instantly result in death (short of an enrage timer) and are all ways to make a fight more challenging should a mechanic not be properly handled.
