I used to have fun running Senche on a bursty PvP build, but it just ends up being too much work for not enough extra oomph compared to other sets.

Vet tempest island isn't hard : / I've vet solo'd that dungeon 13 times. Final boss is a distance check. You don't need a tank for that dungeon at all, you can literally 3 dps and 1 healer it. Shoot I've even 4 dps'd it as well.
Trick to final boss is try to trip her to doing her aoe attack by slightly nudging her at a slight close range and then back up so her aoe goes off and then everyone rush her for 5 seconds and then back up some. Healer I suggest having reviving barrier just in case always topped off.

I know it isn't hard. I meant that this would save me time from having to find or create a group of my own to run the dungeon a few times for the helm in an item weight i would want.

Mask would be medium, and guise would be light?

Medium/heavy depends on a lot on your playstyle and purposes of the build.
