I speed up the boring parts, like if I have a long kiting session in between dumps I’ll speed that up. If anything important happens, that happens at normal speed .
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a PvP vid where the poster speeds up the whole thing. If anything, the trend seems to be making the important parts slow-mo.
Are you sure that the vids are sped up and not just demonstrating proper animation cancelling?

Actually clips even without speed up, but with music track which covers all the sounds gives me a headache too - I would understand music along with combat sounds, sometimes it really works great, but not when completely overwriting all game sound.
Well, maybe I dont play those meta classes which have big number of high quality vid makersI usually looking for stamplars and stamdks..
EDIT: Its not a rant topic, actually, just curious why
It’s an ego thing. They post their vids to get compliments and it makes them feel good.
Just a couple weeks ago in these forums one guy was calling another famous (in game friend or whatever). lmao I think he was seriously thinking he and the other guy weee famous.
So it’s to feed their ego.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWNt_8xcOZwThere's a difference between an educational video and a PvP montage - the latter is really more of an "art project", a way to channel creativity and create something cool (subjective of course) with editing software (and syncing up the music with effects etc). Atleast for me that is.
I've also enjoyed watching the PvP videos other people create ever since the days of vanilla WoW and classics like:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWNt_8xcOZw
...sometimes I even find good new songs I hadn't heard before when watching the videos. Sometimes (rarely) I turn down the volume or mute the video entirely.

My biggest problem with those video are that the image quality is really low. They haven't used a high quality encoding (and YT destroys that when you upload), so images look all very unclear. It demands a rather powerful computer to both play with reasonable high FPS and encode (recording in background) what you are doing. Those players doesn't have an interest in sacrifice a tiny bit of performance to make video with high enough quality to actually show what is going on in the battlefield.
