Well, at least the banishing option would be good to have. Consider it a spell, and it'll fit the lore just right. While it's a great idea, pets were never intended to work this way. They are basically a spell with a permanent pet effect, for all intents and purposes..not meant to have aggressiveness off or on, or commanded to stay at one point in the world.
So I think it's a good idea - but there is a reason that nothing like this was ever added in the first place.

Only if you can make the interaction more reliable and less clunky on console. When trying to interact with another player (trade, group invite, etc) the targeting itself is a crapshoot, and have to hold the “start” button for over a second sometimes just to get the menu to pop. It’s not as simple as a single keybind like the pc folks.
I’d rather start with offering basic pet controls for console that you guys already enjoy.

Pretty sure the reason is Zo$' offical motto of "meh,it's good enough!"

Aww c’mon they try to improve things all the time.

It's so obvious that they work non-stop! They're constantly improving everything they can, trying to figure out how to improve what they haven't been able to yet, and have made ENORMOUS progress since launch!
Anyways, back on topic. I think it would be easier to have pet settings in the character screen. You know, where it shows which mundus stone, food, etc. are active? I'd like a gambit system like in Dragon Age 2 or FF12

It would be nice if a summoned pet gave an effect in the character menu that way right clicking the effect will unsummon just like removing other buffs

Can't tell if you're trolling or seriously don't realize this exact feature currently exists. On console at least.

I’m not trolling. The person I responded to suggested it and I just assumed console doesn’t have that and I agreed with them. I’m glad it does.

Sorry, I just wasn't able to discern the tone of the text.
But yes, if you go into the character menu and scroll down to active effects it will say something like "Summon Twilight Matriarch" - Two button pushes and the effect is removed (aka pet is unsummoned). I try to be courteous and do that any time I'm in a town or interacting with outlier guild traders.
