It seems like new currency types keep being added to ESO, and we're closing in on Neverwinter's chaotic system. I wonder how many different currencies we'll have when it's all said and done, 10? 20?
We started with Gold and Alliance Points. No problem, easily separated both in the manner of earning and spending options. Then we added Crowns, then Tel Var Stones, then Crown Gems, now Writ Vouchers.
Now we've got 6 different currency types, all acquired differently, and all spent on different items and places. I'm not complaining about the difficulty of the system, it's not "hard" to keep straight, it's just becoming unnecessarily complex and a bit silly.
Especially since they are handled differently in terms of storage and use, for no reason that I can discern. Crowns and Gems are account wide, Gold and Telvar are bankable and shareable throughout your account, AP and vouchers are character bound, why is this still the case?
What are the communities' thoughts on this? Am I the only one mildly annoyed?
Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. ~Friedrich Nietzsche
