The most faithful and loyal steed needs to return on ESO. Next Dark Brotherhood anniversary perhaps?
The game artists could make him spawn from a black puddle similar to the way he appears on Skyrim when you summon him.

✭✭✭✭✭It would make sense. After all, the current DB-esque "Doom Wolf"...
...is pretty much the lupine equivalent of Shadowmere anyhow...
And since the DB storyline is set in a region known for domesticating dire wolves to ride that makes sense - but DB outposts in other regions might come with different animals in "Dark Brotherhood" style (meaning, black coat, red glowing eyes and DB themed saddle and stuff like the DW)
And I agree that all of those could benefit from a "black puddle" spawning animation...2 -

✭I agree we need Shadowmere with the next DB anniversary, but in stead of coming out of a dark pool, I would rather see Shadowmere come out of a pool of blood and a particle effect of dark smoke emanating from it's mane.
A single white hand insignia on it's rear flank would complete the deal.1 -

✭I was expecting Shadowmere to come with the DB at launch. Maybe it's something to do with lore, in that Shadowmere is supposed to be unique? Regardless, there are ways to explain lots of Shadowmeres running about, I'm sure, and I love one!!PC EU & NA0
