The site wouldn't exist without the add-on. And the add-on doesn't monitor anything that it doesn't say it monitors.
and actually the site would exist. theyd just have to check for stuff in various guild stores which i think they already do.
also, it doesn't update listings in real time, there is maybe an hour delay? so there is a good chance that listing you saw was uploaded by the very person who bought the item.
It is depending on user that scan Guild Stores and upload those prices to TTC server. Scanning takes time during which items might have been sold already. Each time a user interact with guild store game download a copy of database to client even without TTC add on, so that is how ESO work.
I haven't seen any indication on malware, so you could poster provide proof of this?
more or less what I said. if you are, say a TTC user and come across a great listing - you buy it, addon scans it, uploads it to site once you log out, or reload UI.. and... the listing shows up on the website, despite no longer existing in a store. it eventually gets removed from the website, when someone else scans listings in original store and the item is no longer there, but it can take a while. i've seen listings on TTC that say "last seen 8 hours ago" that are most definitely no longer in a store, but the site hasn't gotten updated yet. so generally, when using TTC to shop, I go by most recently seen and the price that is about average to MM sales data (personaly I always cross reference).
using TTC to find good deals is just about pointless. using TTC to narrow down your search to find an item, period is pretty decent. using it to cross reference prices with MM, I found to be VERY useful.

I've found a ton of great deals using TTC.

Are you using BitDefender by any chance?
The TTC client is an exe file running from your 'documents' folder and antivirus software looks out for that sort of thing. It does not mean that that it IS malware though.

malware bytes it pulls it everytime i have it and always classifies it as malware so i just dont mess with it. had a few techs even tell me if its saying that then thats what it is. so do i condone using the addon, since it comes up as malware heck no but the site yea thats something i use on a regular basis.

A lot of software gets flagged as "malware" because it might have functional similarities to some malware. That doesn't mean it is malware. It's just a false positive.
You can't use the site and bash the add-on. It's extremely hypocritical as the site cannot exist without the add-on.

actually its not hypocritical you can use a site but if they have something that your antivirus finds to be malware that youd have to download to get your info on there then you have every right to be against the addon. theres many sites on the internet some of their downloadable stuff can carry malware but their sites are beautiful. so its not hypocritical to talk different over one or the other based on a antivirus program. i just wont use the addon doesnt mean that im not allowed to share the experience with both. ive tried to fix it but it always flags it so am i willing to take a chance certainly not. someone else wants to use it go right ahead whos honestly stopping you.

It's hypocritical because the website requires people to use the add-on in order to stay up-to-date. It wouldn't exist otherwise.
And you aren't sharing your experience with the add-on. The add-on hasn't harmed your computer in any way. You're just citing a false positive.
No one is saying you have to use the add-on, but to bash it while saying you use the website is beyond silly.

Antivirus software use heuristics that look for certain traits and behavior in executables. The software doesn't actually know if the exe is malware because it doesn't know whether or not you want it to do what it is doing. There is a lot of functionality of software that can look like malware even when that software is doing nothing harmful and only what you want it to do. I have no idea what is going in this case, but you should be able to see how a program designed to pull data from another program and send it over the Internet is the kind of thing you would want to flag to be safe. Since the addon is not well known software, antivirus software likely won't know to not flag it.
It is clear you aren't going to back off your claim, but think about this. You are insisting it is malware despite having no knowledge of it doing anything unwanted.

TTC isn't MM.
In any case, I see 20 paranoid speculations about 'price fixing' and MM for every 1 -actual- price fixing via MM.
It's heavily overrated how much 'price fixing' that goes on on the trade market.

LOL. The website is great, the addon not so much. Though some people have to used it to get the uploaded data.
You need to get your facts straight.

OK, here are the facts on the website:
- Website listings aren’t real time ... you can head to a trader listing only to find the item not there.
- The website is definitely not console-friendly. Listings for Xbox and PS4 are few and far between.
- Not everyone or every guild participates in TTC ... even on PC. Therefore, you’re never sure you’re getting the best deal.

If you go on xbox na and look at the guild traders it becomes apparent of a year looking through guild traders that ttc looks to be price fixing. Perhaps because no basis of a flat rate being for any said item kinda complicates things or maybe something else.

There are very few listings on TTC on consoles, which probably makes it easier to coordinate. I'm on PC, and there is very little price fixing on PC. Many cases that seem to be "price fixing" is actually just the collective user base reading the signs and trends on the market and increasing their prices accordingly, you know, like people do in real life circumstances as well.
Yeah on console it becomes apparent that the ttc is using data from a guild trader in mournhold. Nowhere else is the data reflecting an honest holding of the pricing of items which makes its system flawed on console. From what I can deduce it is not something to take serious on console. It is safer just to consider the suggestions mostly null and void, from a console perspective of course.
