Mount Leveling(Speed, Stamina, Capacity) Idea

Would it be possible to remove the cool down on leveling mounts speed, stamina, and capacity? At this point of the game it takes roughly 160-180 days to fully level a mount. Why can’t leveling a mount be like purchasing bag space? Meaning that if you have the gold necessary to do so you can purchase all 60 upgrades of your liking to max out your mount in any of the 3 categories.

I think this could be a huge boost to quality of life in the game and would greatly help those who can’t afford crowns to level a mount using he crown speed, stamina, or capacity items.

They sell bulk riding lessons in the crown store that can get you fully leveled in minutes.

Which means ZOS has 0 incentive to speed up the process in game.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I use crown gems from scrapping all the trash poisons I get in free crown crates to purchase riding lessons.

Which I mentioned. To fully level a mounts speed and stamina it cost you 12,000 crowns.

That is $100 for the 14,000 crown back or $95 for the 2 5500 crown packs plus 1500 crown pack.

It’s also 8 months worth of ESO+ Crowns.

Like I said in the original post there a lot of people out there who likely can’t afford to do it via those methods so just increasing the speed to level mounts would be a great quality of life adjustment especially for those of us with multiple toons.

Zos removed the CD when using the crown store purchased training. Considering they’d like to still sell those items I’d say the suggestion above will not happen.

Since you already made a reply to a similar post I’ll make it clear. Zos provides the QoL vis the crown store. You want the QoL then pay up. Otherwise fill a character well ahead of time and start training the horse. There is your answer.

You youngsters will never know the pain we had to suffer. Back in the old days, we had to train EVERY horse we got this way. Anytime you got a new mount it was starting over from scratch. Be thankful you are now training your character instead of each mount. :)

Now what I do is personally for my mount training is the twitch drop crates you get gems from, I use those gems to buy upgrades for my riding. It ends up free.

Zos makes you pay out the butt if you wanna take short-cut to leveling up Mount training, same goes for reseacrhing traits.

Which is as it should be. Mount training beyond a fairly nominal level is beneficial but unnecessary, and people who claim to have to log in every day for months on end just to level a character's riding skills to the point where that character becomes usable are talking nonsense, they just want a quick way of leveling those skills in the same way that they want to use dolmens to level the character in the first place.

All of these things should be left as they are, being designed that way for the people who actually want to play the game, rather than those who just want to skip everything.

do you go into cyrodiil or pvp?

So let’s take your theory, you say it should be drawn out and not something quick? Do you play more than one toon?

If anything once you get a mount to 60/60/60 would it make sense to you that it should be account wide or be able to purchase a token to get 60 or whichever for alts?

Considering some mounts started with a boost to their speed and you could have one mount for your entire account this wasn't as bad as you're making it seem. ZoS however saw the benefit of placing riding lessons in the crown store and parenting the riding lessons to the character as a means of possibly generating additional income as players made new characters/rerolls.

I have 10 characters, and have leveled them all to 60/60/60, except my newest that I'm still working on. I've used some of the riding lessons from crates for the last couple of characters, but that's only been a few, so it's still taken close to the usual amount of time.

For PvP, I could understand wanting 60 in speed and stamina quickly, but capacity isn't that necessary to have right away. Plus, you have the option to purchase riding lessons in the CS and they drop in all the free crates we've been getting and you can always convert other items to gems in order to buy the lessons.

Bottom line is, you want the same convenience offered by the CS, but for gold (free). ZOS isn't likely to do that given they want people to spend real money if they want to speed things up.

You should be thankful that you don't have to level each mount to 60/60/60. In fact, before the CS and all it's shiny mounts, we couldn't even get 60/60/60 on any mount. You only had a certain number of feedings you could do and so you had to prioritize which stat you wanted most. So, you had a speed horse, a pack mule, and a sturdy horse. No one mount excelled at all three.

Also, try leveling characters like we did with no XP scrolls or Ambrosia or double XP events. And grinding ALL characters through veteran ranks.

Although, you could never get 60/60/60 on ANY mount back then. Yes, some had a boost to one stat, but with a limited number of feedings you had to prioritize, so to have the benefits of all (speed, stamina, capacity), you had to maximize the stats for the mount that had a particular boost and so you'd have a horse for speed, then one for stamina, and one for capacity. So, yes, if you wanted all the benefits, you had to have more than one mount. Or just have a really fast horse that added little to your capacity and had little stamina. Or a very slow horse to hold all your extra items.

I’ve played that long. Actually had 500+ champion points from the VR14/16 days before it went to the cp160 method. I know what it was like to grind but tbh they nerfed the XP of all those grind spots back then too.

Also to counter yalls crown store argument they also sell bag space upgrades in the crown store, bank space upgrades, vampire bites, and werewolf bites all which can be purchased in game for gold(free as y’all put it). I’m just asking that make purchasing mount speed like purchasing bag space in game for gold(free).

There is no reason we shouldn’t be able to spend 15k gold to level up one of the attributes of our mounts in one swoop instead of having to do it once ever 20 hours.

For instance to upgrade bag space from 60-110 can be done in less than a minute totaling 38.5k gold. Same for bank space going from 60-240 for a total of 768,500g
