Didn't see it coming: Ward of Cyrodiil Set

Last week I bought 25 pieces of the Ward of Cyrodiil set just to get the right 3 pieces.
I transmuted all of them to fit my build.
I did this only to get the mount speed bonus.
I enjoyed it for 1 trip through Cyrodiil.
And today I'm deeply disappointed.
Why did they nerf the one thing I invested half of my Alliance points ??
There is not even an explanation in the patch notes. :'( :'(

Just as the person above stated, this was on the first patch notes for the PTS. It pays to keep up with the PTS patch notes...

    What they said.

It just makes sense to keep up with changes and proposed changes in a MMORPG.

You know, many people don't live the pts, including me, and there are reasons why.

Also I was spending many hours to farm Durok's Bane and spent 200 transmute crystals to make few pcs. impenetrable, only to find this a trash after the newest patch.
For me the transmute crystals and gold should be refunded for anyone recently changing sets that were updated. It's sad they changed so much just because they wanted, sometimes completely wasting peoples' builds, without any responsibility.

Most posts giving pts feedback are from players that never step foot in it but take the time to read the be patch notes for reasons.

Yes, I’m aware some don’t even read the patch notes for what goes live due to threads created by players oblivious to such changes. However, it does make sense to not make major changes to anything a week or two before a major update goes live since anything can be changed at the last minute.

If someone chooses to be oblivious that an update is coming there isn’t anything that can be done, that I can think of as reasonable since it’s been well known via the forums and launched an update was coming.

I don't really read the patch notes either but I also don't make decisions that would cost a lot of resources without doing my homework before a major update.

I'm on console. We won't get the update for another two weeks, yet I know what will go live before it is on PC.

I was theory crafting a build a few patches ago. Was almost to the Buying the gear portion. Patch notes came out the next day for CWC I believe and nerfed it before creation. I didn’t even get to buy the gear before it was Nerfed lol

Yep! Me too, and I always read PTS patch notes. I've occasionally gotten on PTS on PC if there's something I'm really interested in trying out, but I at least try to keep up with everything that's going on. I also read all PC patch notes, to see what's coming down the line for console. It pays to keep informed, and everyone should know by now that anything can change with a major update (or even an incremental).

The changes to Ward were announced a month ago. This is why you should always read the PTS patch notes as soon as they come out.

I have 30 toons. And I use alphagear addon to do fast gear swap.

Every toon had his own Cyrodiil's Ward jewelry.

Now they all ride so slow, I cry.

    We need Mounted speed back!

Which is why long ago I've suggested adding town criers that would be a hub to showcase upcoming patch notes/changes. People don't live on the forums & as I stated long ago as well; The forums is the loud minority whereas those who do not participate on the forums are the silent majority.

Yes, they invested resources and time to change a Set no one ever asked to touch.

A set giving a unique bonus and in no way harmful for the great balance of this game.

Really I don't know whoever made this this decision what was thinking. Time to trash the 3 jewels I always had with me.

Nice waste of time and resources, @ZOS.

You took away from us something that was actually useful and good to have.

no doubt this suggestion will get buried here in this thread and quickly forgotten - however, this sounds like a very good idea that would benefit the player base a whole.lot more than those crappy crown store ads...

    Sigh.....for PvPers maybe.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yeah that's the real problem. I'm not really crying for the ressources spent in vain.

It's the one great ride I got and now knowing what I will be missing until hopefully there will be another
    set.
I would gladly take the speed bonus as the 5 items bonus of a set.
Even if it would be the only bonus of the whole set !!!

It's fine to not live on the pts. But we all know patches bring changes. Not just in ESO, but in MMO's in general.
Nothing is safe. It's always a good idea to keep up with the coming changes.
If you can't be bothered coming to the forum, or reading changes, there's always someone going over the changes on twitch or youtube.
Really no excuse not to know, it's really on the player to keep up. The info is out there. If you want to be suprised and that's the reason you don't check...well, this is what happens.
Not trying to be a d!€k here, but it is what it is.

Sadly it was in the PTS Patch Notes mate, have to study then religiously

But I do agree this change, with no explanation is weird.

It's probably as they want you to use keep transit stones (more AP!) or we rumoured it's to fix lag or the new BG map.

Regardless the Devs are silent on why they hoovered up our fun.

I feel the OP’s pain a bit. A pal of mine bought the gold jewelry only for another pal to light into her for not keeping up with the patch notes.

Lucky for her she is a BG killing machine and PvPs and duels all day. She’ll get the AP back real quick.
