Recovery, Reduction and Poisons

We were reviewing the pros and cons of sustain strategies -- recovery versus cost reduction (an interesting topic for another thread) -- and someone mentioned poisons.

Do poisons effect cost recovery and cost reduction in different ways? Or put differently, is one more poison proof than others?

    Recovery = 169
    Reduction = 203

    Since regen happens every 2 seconds, then effectively a recovery glyph = 84.5 resource per second.

    Therefore if you cast a skill every one/two seconds reduction will beat recovery, where as recovery will win if you don't (plus recovery is active out of combat where as reduction isn't).

    Another factor is that stamina recovery is 0 while blocking or sprinting, so if you play agile then again reduction will likely win.

    Against poisons I'm not too sure, poisons wont effect cost reduction (afaik but I don't really use poisons), however if they use draining poisons reduction will be redundant as you will have no stamina to cast skills without enough recovery to beat it out.

    Sure someone will come in with some math or a detailed explanation but until then ^ is my opinion on the matter.

    without cost increase poisons and ability to take recovery away wed have builds that have permanent sustain and can just rely forever in a battle so pvp would suffer if poisons were changed at all right now.

    Cost reduction feels so bad, the value is always lower than what it states. It's always diminished significantly and it does not scale with any of your %. Recovery however always gives its full values and is pushed by your %. For example racials, armor regeneration or CP. It's a much better feeling for me personally.

    You make much more out of those 169 regen. For me, it's over 250 regen per glyph.
