Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Weekly maintenance is bummin me out

So, in Australia, maintenance is from late afternoon until midnight every Tuesday now. That makes the game unplayable every tuesday because we have jobs.

This is really bumming me out, especially as this tuesday happens to be my birthday. Go back to fortnightly maintenance, this weekly BS is taking away an irritating chunk of my game time.

Are you aware that there are many different time zones, right? Not every human on this planet lives in Australia. I'm from central Europe and I'm happy about maintenance times (10 am my time).

This is the bliss of unified server maintenance ... not. :|

I’m aware, thats why I didn’t make the usual “please make it an off peak time” plea I see in every othwer post. Its just not being able to play a day a week is annoying, thats all.

The last few weeks were anomalies. Monday is the normal maintenance time so you can instead write-off your Mondays for the next few weeks as the upcoming patch is delivered and then patched to fix bugs that didn't show up until the release build.

I get your frustration I really do, over the years playing different games, us EU guys often get affected by such things also, however most companies don't have the resources (or choose not to) to have different localised server down times even if they should. Though even then you'll have the complaints from those affected because of different work times and lifestyles.

I have a go to FPS for those very occasions or schedule some job that needs doing etc, downtime is the bane of all gamers, but only if you let it be...

What if other than the dungeons - one is not overly hyped about this (lacklustre) DLC?

    I know I'm not.

Still, maintenance is how it is, so tough luck - imho.

Yeah, getting really sick of the maintenance: I mean I speak as a newbie to both ESO and MMOs so I'm not really up to date with what to expect, but what I expect is to play stuff when I want to play it, not to find it's offline for most of a day every week, usually with little warning and no updates until it's done hours later. And that there's never anything to show for it. :/ As I mentioned elsewhere, coming from the world of data-centres where availability was paramount, I'm a bit surprised.

Sadly its just part of the way MMO's work. Just got to learn to live with it. You said it's your birthday.. go and celebrate it with friends and family instead of on a game?

Every MMO has server maintenance, it's longer for some and shorter for others. ESO's maintenance tends to be longer than usual this days; however I remember WoW patches which killed the servers for 24 hours, and then an additional 6-8 hours twice within a week.

Guess I'm surprised: partly surprised because I dunno why gamers put up with that sort of downtime; and surprised because my life as a sysadmin involved being yelled at quite a lot if things weren't going awesomely. I've even received phone calls on my private number calling me unrepeatable things. Which I'm obviously isn't saying it excusable conduct but I think I have a better understanding of users becoming irate than I do of sysadmins saying "it'll be down whenever I want and for as long as I want, and I owe you no explanation". If I'd taken that sort of attitude I'd have sacked myself for gross unprofessionalism.

I dunno whether in spite of or because of my experience as a sysadmin I'm very surprised about how many people are totally okay with this.

Eh, I'm not interested in it at all. And the download is going to cause me major heartburn with my sat provider. *sigh* I thought it wasn't dropping until September?

It was better a few years ago when it didn't start until about 10pm AEST. These days it can start anywhere from 4pm to 6pm. It's annoying for sure but the Oceanic pop is so low compared to the US/EU residents pop we'll always get the short end of maint.

Stop eating your hat because we console peasants won't see the new DLC until 28th Aug I believe. This is just "regular" maintenance that -datacentre anomalies aside - seems to have been at the prunes of late.

Small price to pay for living somewhere better than most places.

Still, if we do or say nothing then we appear apathetic to ZOS and they can do whatever they want to us. But if we make ourselves heard, which is pretty much all we can do, then at least we have done something.

ZOS should be concerned though as it gives us the opportunity to try out other games and see how they compare to ESO. :)

I'm not totally ok with this, I'm as mad as hell! This needs fixing. We can start by going to our windows and shouting to let the world know that we're not going to put up with this maintenance any longer!

This is serious business! Go to your windows players! It's time for a revolution!
