Make Dive and Screaming Cliffracer Ice Damage skills?

The reason why i suggest this is because there aren't any decent single target BURST ice damage abilities in the game. This would also allow for much more viable ice mage builds. I also suggest changing the names of the skills to Freezing Dive and Northern Cliffracer.

as for Northern Cliffracer (Screaming Cliffracer) i think it would be nice if they remove the up to 15% damage bonus at longer range and give the skill 15%-20% of inflicting a 2 stun instead.

    Magic damage is the most useless type of damage in the game. There are no racial % increase bonuses for it and it cannot cause any status effects. The only way to increase just magic damage abilities would be to wear War Maiden, which is terrible on warden since it does nothing for Winters Revenge, light and heavy attacks, and wall of elements.

    I would gladly take frost damage on these skills, since it would at least have a chance to proc chilled (the weakest status effect, but better than nothing) and benefit from Warden and Altmer frost damage % increases.

    I also like your idea for a stun. The skill is already well telegraphed and easily avoidable so this would not be too OP in PVP. Even removing the bonus damage for distance would be fine, since Cliff Racer is already inferior to force pulse or elemental weapon for pure DPS. 2s might be a little short though, not really even worth spending stamina to break free from, maybe a 3s stun would be ok?

    Why cliff racer tho? Shalks maybe? Deep fissure could be an ice skill. Cliff racers dealing ice is kinda off.

    No. There are no armour sets to compliment ice skills. War maiden buffs these skills. Making these skills ice damage would be a huge nerf

    Why not both? A few more Ice skills and Ysgramor might become viable.

    Well, Ysgramor and Winterborn (which are great when paired on an Ice Warden). So, if birds or shalks were converted to ice... it wouldn't be too bad.
    Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

    The War Maiden 5pc bonus adds less than 7% damage to these skills (for a typical PVE build). You would be much better off going with something like Julianos that adds 5% to all your magic damage as well as elemental damage (including light and heavy attacks) and healing skills. Additionally this idea would allow Altmer to add another 4% damage and Dunmer 2% to these skills (effectively more like 3% and 1.5% respectively after CPs).

    Shalks comes with a stun no? Does this stun work in pvp? I like the idea of making Cliff racer a stun. Would put wardens in line with sorcs. They have a 100 foot no brainer stun why not another class. Make it so!

    - Give Nords frost a good damage bonus (like dark elves, maybe some 7-9%), and they might even be a valid magicka alternative.
    - Give us some set boosting elemental damage as is (constant, and not like "Elemental Succession" or whatever it's called), and fix Ysgramor. I have a feeling it's slightly bugged with some frost damage abilities.

    The thing is I want these type of changes to occur but it won’t happen anytime soon. But also why didn’t Zos think of this when they have paid employees to make ideas like this.

    It makes very much sense that cliffracer is in animal companions tree, no need to move that from there. And I`m afraid that ice-mage won`t be viable playstyle for damage dealers as long as zos wants ice-staff to be tool for tanks, yes, I`d like to see that changed.

    However, there is way to give wardens one more source of ice-dmg, not sure where I picked this idea but it has been mentioned before. Answer is arctic blast, morph of arctic wind. They should simply make this morph proper dmg-dealing ability by making it only deal dmg, not healing. Imagine ice-cloak around you, dealing good amount of aoe-dmg for X amount of time. If numbers were set correctly, it could be worth-a-slot dot for single-target dps while also increasing magdens aoe-deeps and thus compensating what they lose in aoe when using bear instead of destro-ulti. More dps for magdens, one more useable skill for wannabe ice-mages, and tanks could still have another morph as heal as it is now (heal morph still needs buffing though).

    Agreed. The ice dmg morph one could be said to be a kind of frozen familiar being shot at enemies. I could even give up on bonus damage for distance travel if they would give us mag recovery bonus, keep in mind MagDen got serious issues with sustain just like DK & Sorc. Why 30% recovery? Why not, 2 handed weapons have it why not us and it would be tied on special condition of crit.
    Tooltip: Conjure frost cliff racer and immediatly send it after single enemy dealing X Frost damage. The damage is increased by 15% depending on the distance traveled.On succesfull critical hit increase your magicka recovery by 30% for 8 seconds. I would leave second morph as it is or make it deal poison damage.

    its already a magical summoned cliff diver - i dont think its much of a stretch to change it into a magical summoned ice cliff diver.

    An ice cliffracer would be nice, as it opens up some nice cryomancer ideas + maybe make deep fissure dealing ice damage too
