I don't know what to do

Whadu you do?

I log in, look around and log out. I made a new character but I don't like doing all quests. So I pick one or two and see what i find on the way. But there is nothing to explore since all zones have basically the same layout content wise (almost same amount of caves/bosses/skyshards).
So i am not much into PvE in this game. Quests are really fun the 1st time, but i can't get into them a second time.
I like dungeons but only for the first few times. Another vWGT and I jump of the tower myself.
I don't like trials, but i occasionally join them. But the adds are such an annoyance and they come in waves. I sit here with curled toes wishing it was over and we are at boss.

For me the end game was PvP. But I really dislike poisons and procsets, which should be only for PvE imho. But i do try to PvP but mostly get annoyed by lag, loading screens (which only happens when im grouped) and sometimes crash to login screen. The latte reasons is why i did not participate in Midyear Mayhem event because i don't wan't to get stressed when playing a game.

But now i don't know what to do anymore when i log in. I love the game, the lore etc. But i don't like questing in this game and PvP i get annoyed. I tried taking a break but now i feel disconnected from the game. I cancelled my sub a while back because i don't want to pay for 1 minute login. The only thing i miss for not subbing is a crafting bag, but i can cope with that.

I also do not care about achievements, as i think those should come naturally while playing. So i don't want to aim for them specifically. (aka i hate grinding).

What do you guys do to keep yourself enjoyed, and in particular people who (like me) like PvP in particular?

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I probably won't be much help because I am still enjoying most of the game so can always find something to do. I also like hanging out with guildies so for me the game is fun.

    You might try battlegrounds though.

how many different characters do you have?

I have 10, each race, stam/mag version of each class...I change their armor sets and ability rotations about every six months...

I look forward to playing different characters in cyrodiil...i only play the same character for a day or two in a row...

that's how I keep things interesting and challenging for myself...

Really the only advice I can give you is take some time away from the game and try other things for awhile.
I hate lag and (resource drain) poison too, but I doubt these things are ever going to change, so if you can't find away to deal with that, maybe it's best to move on. PvP is what it is here, that's just reality. Yeah, we can ask for improvement or new game ideas, but players have been doing that for years, and...yeah.
Grind is also a large part of MMO's...and most of them don't do it very well. All your complaints are staples of this genre.
You have to ask yourself if you actually like mmo's, because it doesn't sound like it. Nothing wrong with that, but maybe try something else for awhile then come back and see if you're having fun. If not, there's your answer.
    Either way, best of luck.

I go through periods where i have the same problem, i think i’m burnt out sometimes which might be due to playing 3k hours within a year..

When i’m not “bored” of the game, for pvp i like battlegrounds- lots of proc set users there though but less lag and load screens than cyrodill, and it’s fast paced and fun. For pve i have a goal of getting the flawless conqueror achievement which keeps me going i guess. i play with my bf a lot too and we do dailies and go into trials together but we’re both bored sometimes and vMA is a solo trial so it’s not like that’s a fun social thing to do. this is why i really want a 2 man trial T-T. but yeah, i guess i’d suggest battlegrounds then.

Well, I don't like questing either - so I do it in small bursts, then it is fun for a while. Otherwise I just go cross-country and see what I find this way. I like crafting and decorating my houses and to hang out with those few friends I have - well, this has not much to do with the game in this case, we talk about all and everything, but rarely about the game itself, just socializing and getting to know each other - as real life persons, not as characters - ok, and when we have done that, we enjoy venturing out and enjoying Tamriel again - mostly each on his/her own - the socializing aspect does not convert into group activity in game.

There is always something to do. When I really don't know what to do I search for some hard achievement and try to do it. Most of time I spent in Cyrodiil, when lag gets unbearable I go to IC - if there are no flags we own, I hunt other faction players, they usually have loads of tvs then, if whole IC is ours I solo bosses to get even more tvs. When I'm completely burned out I simply take a break from ESO and return in a month or two.

    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

What attracts you to the game? What do you find appealing about the Elder Scrolls series?

If you love your characters and the lore, maybe look into joining a Roleplaying Guild? You can make some new friends and focus on developing some rich narratives and hilarious experiences.

Housing. When I don't know what to do I port to one of my houses and start decorating: I find it both relaxing and challenging.
Or chat. Just talk to guildies, make friends, help newbies in zone chat, etc...

Thanks guys. I guess i just take a longer break. I played a lot of mmo's since 2003 and perhaps I am just burned out with the genre.

Hehe you made me chuckle. To be honest, i never go to parties. But I do not have humor i guess and i mostly steer clear of parties and overall crowded places. Doesn't mean i am not happy person though. I think i am overall happy and i enjoy life.

Well, time to take a longer break. I will try some single player games or spend more time in my garden sniffing flowers and photograph the butterflies.

I'm not saying go sign up at your local factory. But working 12 hour shifts I only get a little time to play... Therefore more to enjoy, in a way. Playing too much can burn you out.

A break is always healthy, gardening and photographing butterflies seems like a good thing to do, I like time lapsing sun sets and sun rises, also love time lapsing stars, but it's quite difficult finding an area dark enough for that with all the light pollution these days.

Hey log into the game, have a look at the butterflies and flowers in game and see which ones match the real world, then you can show us which one you found similar in your photo collection. That would be quite interesting.

Buy a camera drone, you can make awesome videos with those and flying them via a downlink to your smart phone is fun as well, like you would be in it piloting it.

The funny thing for me is - I do not enjoy fishing in real life - but in ESO this is quite relaxing and I observe the nature around me - especially at the bitter coast, where I can harvest some wax as well from dreugh. Fishing in ESO is astoundingly relaxing.

Completely agree with that, some activities are better in game than in real life

Lots of other people besides you are experiencing the same feelings about the game. Too many bugs and lag issues in PvP, and PvE is general is boring in this game after the first 100000 play-throughs. Other games will be coming out soon. Until then can just log in and play when we feel like. As the frustration with this game grows and we play less and less, thats normal and belongs in the cycle. What has a beginning will always have an ending=)
