Cant get a free trial code on a previously created account

I have an account that was created before the free trial event and does not have ESO purchased on it. I used this linkhttps://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/freeplay and signed in with the account but all it does is take me to my account page and says "You have not yet made any game purchases. Please click Redeem Code below to enter your Game Registration Code or Buy Game to purchase the digital version." It does not give any prompt for a trial code and there is nothing in my email about it.

Similar thing happened to my room mate. He has an account on PS4, when he goes to the account page, there is no way to add the PC free trial at all... He does not want to create multiple accounts....

Anyway to do this other than creating a new account? otherwise the free to play event is a fail.

If you created your ESO account without going through the "Free Play Page," you will need to create a new account in order to receive the proper access to the Free Play event.

If you are an existing player who participated in previous betas or free play events, you do not need to create a new account to participate in The Elder Scrolls Online Free Trial on PC, you can simply log in with your existing account.

If you've went through the free play link and still can't access ESO, please contact customer support so they can check your account.

Yeah he gave up on the PC free to play. Just did not work and not worth the hassle. For a free trial, we have to contact support? wow
