Can a Khajiit be a sorc?

I have tried every class with a khajiit except for a sorc, the others seemed boring to me. I'm not looking to compete in leader boards or anything like that. But in PVP and PVE I would like to play. I have the maelstrom inferno staff and maelstrom bow as my weapons currently. Any advice?

An inferno staff and a bow, so like a hybrid sorc? It would be ok for questing and doing overland stuff I guess. I think you'd have a rough time with it in PvP and if you pug dungeons you'll probably get kicked as soon as people noticed you're running a staff and a bow.

Will be better on a Stam Sorc, but there is no reason you couldn't do Mag Sorc as well. You just wont have much help from racial passives which, despite some people's insistence, isn't the end of the world. You can complete all content just fine on a Khajiit Mag Sorc.

I'm following this build if it makes a difference. I have majority of all the gear needed.

I play a magplar healer, magsorc lightning dps, bowbow stamsorc, magblade dps, bowbow stamblade. And they are all Bosmer. The only unique racial passive that qualifies Bosmer for all that is BiS in Cute. So I'm pretty sure a a Khajiit can do fine given the caveats you mention in your opening post. :)

Are you familiar with how damage scaling works in this game? I only ask because you say that you are using both a staff and a bow. Now, you can do some interesting things with staff+bow, but you won't find that in any Alcast build. Most players choose either magicka (with staves) or stamina (with melee weapons and bows) to build a character with. The reason for this is primarily because of the stats that damage scales off of.

So if you want to go mag sorc (which it looks like you do), use staves. If you want to go Stam Sorc, use melee weapons and/or bows.

As someone that played a khajiit magblade and cleared vMoL before race changing cause i'm a min/maxer at heart you can absolutely play a khajiit sorc if you're not looking to compete on leaderboards etc. it may take more work to hit high numbers but it is doable

You can legit do either. I know magicka khajiits who have cleared all sorts of hard pve stuff like vAS HM and whatnot. Or go stamsorc if you want! They're just as viable.

If you want to do PvP with it I would highly recommend to not play a magicka build on a stamina class. I don't know what build you are exactly running (inferno staff + bow sounds extremely weird to me and I can't see how that's viable), but you should probably decide to either play stamina oder magicka.

If you really want to play a Khajiit you should go stamsorc, it's still not BIS (for PvP at least) but much more viable than the magicka counterpart.
I used to think that PvP was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy.
