PvE MagDk Silks of the Sun + Siroria?

Hi everyone. Looking for your throughts on a MagDk running Silks of the Sun, Siroria, & Zaan. At the moment I am running Siroria body, Julianos double inferno staves and jewelry, and Zaan monster set. My best parse was around 26-27k on a 3M dummy. I know BSW would be ideal to combine with Siroria, but I can't seem to get the inferno from City of Ash after dozens of attempts. What it be worth farming Silks to replace Julianos?

You don't need to farm Silks of the Sun. They are droppable and can be bought from Guild vendors. Also, the first questline in Stonefalls that gives you a skill point gives you your Inferno staff, if you haven't done it already.

I have but I can always do it on another character, unless it’s character bound.

All of your damage on mag DK is fire damage. So yes, sun would be a bit better than juli.

I run bsw, sun, and zaan and im doing 38-39k dps. Gonna start farming siroria next week but sun is amazing for magdk since everything you do is fire damage. I tried julianos and i was doing about 2k less.

    for BSW farming:
CoAI is soloable, cakewalk on normal, hard, but possible on vet (did it with my mag DK and my magPlar). Also on average there are at least 2 chests hidden on the map. you can look for most of the chests wíthout having to fight any enemy (NBs have it easier ofc, but with the Shadow Rider passive skill you can just ride around on any class just fine.^

of course, just doing it with a group is the fastest and you might get an item you need from one of the other players.

BSW+Siroria is probably BIS at the moment for dummy parses, but for vMA or any content where you actually have to move Id stick to BSW+Sun or BSW+Julianos

max level: mDK, stamBlade, stamSorc, magPlar, mDen, stamDen, magBlade, stamCro

    # of mules: 4 (FULL)
    maxed bank: FULL -_-
Stop the grind! Get rid of stupid events and daily-quest gallore. Get rid of "have a chance of 1 in a million to get a piece of 1 in 30 to get a stupid motif or pet... wtf..."
And at this point just remove all classes and have everyone choose their set of skills. then balance accordingly to skills always used vs. skills never used.

I ran COA god knows how many times for an inferno staff. The only weapons I got was a sword and a dagger. When they nerfed the set I didn't bother to do any more runs. After getting an inferno VMA staff I might have to take the plunge and go back in.

I've soloed it many times, but I'm at the point where I'm giving upon looking for the staff

I feel happy having the BSW inferno staff. Maybe RNG isn't as cruel to me as I had thought. Guess that also means I'll never see a vMA inferno staff.

Currently I'm running vMA with BSW jewelry+2 body, Julianos staves+3 body, and 2 pc Skoria . I'll also use this setup for vDSA.
Drathus Delenu- Dunmer magDk: Shehai Shatterer, Mageslayer, Stormproof, Peak Scaler, Clockwork Confounder, Orderly, Master Wizard, Cloudrest Hero, Undaunted, Dragonstar Arena Champion
    Thoronir Rolston- Breton petsorc: Stormproof
Zaakazha-Redguard stamblade: Boethia's Scythe, Clockwork Confounder, Maelstrom Arena Champion, Dragonstar Arena Champion

    Scrubs:
    Justinius Maximus Decimus- Altmer magblade
    Agronak gro'Mashul- Orc DK Tank
    Valerya Hawkcroft- Breton healer
    Zaaka- Imperial stamDK/crafter

I use that kit for vMA as well. It hasn’t been a fun experience for me

I never is, magDK's just don't have a great time in vMA. I've been working on collecting some MS gear, I'll front bar bsw and back bar MS, and see what I can hit there. Problem is, sustain is already bad on a magDK and going to MS isn't going to help the situation unless it helps me hit HARD, so things die fast.

As a heads up, I am a huge fan of magDks and have one myself. Just be aware that if you decide to go into trials in the future, many guilds don't prefer them because their dps is highest as close range which that space can be used for a stam dps that will always out parse single target wise. Its a fun build though=)

I've done some trials (nCR and nMOL so far) and I've never been kicked for being a MagDK, but I see your point. I'm sure once I get up to veteran trials this may become an issue. That kind of makes me sad since I like the MagDK's in-your-face play style. I wish they hit harder though. It also sucks that most content punishes melee DPS with the boss AOEs, etc. I wish there were some dungeons that were more geared towards melee DPS and more punishing to ranged DPS. I digress.
