Both abilities work well for their classes as did rune cage for sorc. Oh and you should make fear a projectile along with fossilize so I can see it coming..Because you know..Rune cage is invisible so that is why I die to those skills.

    Fear is pretty terrible tbh.
    No damage, short range, expensive, doesn't help you burst.

    The only thing I like fear for is helping make some stupid permablock tank die.

    Unfortunately ZOS has a weird idea of balance. Take Sload's for example. A set designed for countering Heavy Armour and Shield Stackers... works best against medium armour or Non-CP light armour. Rune cage, designed to target medium armour perma-dodgers works best against light armour, low health Magica Builds :neutral:

    One of these skills is not like the others....

    Those other two mentioned have to be up close, while one has a ridiculous range.
    I know plenty (too many) snipe spamming nightblades that play ranged and still slot fear, so save the "I play ranged" argument. It works for them, and if rune cage didn't have such range, maybe the comparison would make sense.
    Making rune cage dodgeable is a great move. It's a balanced move, something constantly screamed about on the forum. (Unless it affects your class, apparently)...it's the paper to rune cages rock.
    Again, if you've ever argued for balance and somehow think rune cage is just fine the way it currently works on live, then you are undeniably bias and can't be taken seriously.

    I think that it should be pretty clear by now.
    Some time ago - when they changed Warden's Dive skill to be dodgeable (also I think it was the same patch when they fixed NB's Soul Harvest and also made it dodgable) - They clearly said that single target skills/abilities will be dodgable.

    Yes, those all present the same issue: breaking free not working properly.

    It's most likely due to the animations they liked to assign, our action cannot be processed in time and we have a huge delay and sometimes nothing at all, totally unbreakable cc.

    They really should focus on fix this issue and if they can't, they better make them all dodgeable at least and stop adding cc crap if the game can't process so much.

    Dodge is strong enough already. Prioritize break free higher on the server instead.

    Only use the specter trap version of Fear
    do you propose being able to roll through the trap and avoid the CC
    or is baiting people into a location to CC them still fair game

    it helps you get away if your in a pickle with a ganker as well

    The "eye for an eye" concept has a place when it's actually the person that you feel wronged you.

    Problem is that balance changes by ZOS aren't to be placed at the feet of other players playing other classes.

    It would be like if my favorite blue color for dying in game got a slight hue change due to a bug that oversaturated it being corrected and I started threads saying "isn't it time for red and purple to also be diminished in their vibrancy?".

    ZOS of the mindset that AoE skills be undodgeable so Fear gets a by for being an AoE skill.

    All 3 are the same minus the range but the others do dmg and give you bonus on dmg. Rune cage does not allow that now, they should have just nerfed the range by half and it would be fine. But the fact it is dodgable now, why use it if the skill was the same pre summerset only that they made it worse by adding that it is dodgable? No one used it pre summerset when it was not dodgable so why use it now?
