Is there anyway to control group size in imperial city?

It’s clear zenimaxs’ intent for imperial city is small scale pvp. Groups of 4 to maybe 10. Is there anyway to discourage the zergs and ball groups from rolling through 24 people deep? Clearly the diminishing returns on telvar and the narrow corridors and small rooms don’t clue anybody in. It’s the same thing every night. A Zerg of what ever alliance comes rolling through and the small numbers of the other alliances try to hold them off or pick them off at doors causing frustration. Sooner or later those couple come from the outnumbered alliances come rolling in on their character of the alliance that’s running the place and boom 6 districts all one color for hours. It’s disheartening. I remember a time when arena was was the place to be. Either for the giant wars or dueling but large groups rarely strayed from that district. If you did wander away from arena you’d find many solo players running around and plenty of small groups or 2,3, and 4 players. Now it’s groups of 15-24 with 70% snipers and the other 30% Sorcs with rune cage just mashing buttons. If you catch them alone they just hold up block or streak or cloak away. It’s gotten to the point on ps4 na that I know the Zerg leaders and as soon as I see them I queue for another campaign. Even if it’s my alliance that has the Zerg. It has to stop at some point. There has to be a way to control this. Any ideas?

You do realize there is an event happening right now that is encouraging players to go into the City to kill bosses and get AP from the flags.

Your input is so helpful. Thanks for stopping by. Yes I do understand that. It just so happens that I’m posting this during the event. Imperial city is this way event or not. It is markedly worse right now and because of that I haven’t turned on my PlayStation in 5 days. My question was about imperial. City in general and it’s state in its entirety not just the last few days.

I usually find that Imperial City is feast or famine when it comes to groups. Unless ZOS changes the group size for Imperial City (which would probably require separating IC from Cyrodiil, which ZOS shows no inclination to do), nothing is going to change about the allowable group sizes.

True although I’m a terrible nb but my buddy has a nice bomb blade and I play my Magicka warden alot. We are gonna try a new technique soon when he jumps in with his Destro bomb and I’ll tether to him with nature’s embrace and permafrost up to cc them in the bomb. Probably won’t work but maybe lol.

I'm curious about player cap in IC. Is there any? If yes, how many players from each faction can be inside IC at the same time? If there are any caps ZOS could reduce them by half, that would eliminate overcrowding problem.

There's no cap for IC, because they are attached to the Cyrodiil queues, not separate. So theorectically the max is the same as everyone who can fit in Cyrodiil (which we don't know the number because ZOS won't say).

Messing with the IC population, creating a separate cap, or a separate group limit would probably require splitting IC from Cyrodiil. That's been asked for tons of times, and ZOS doesn't seem interested in doing that.

There's not a hard cap for IC as it follows the same rules as cyro but my guildies and I have discovered that only the top 12 DD people get rewards/telvar for killing bosses so we try to limit our group sizes to 12.
Healers are kinda SOL in here btw....

When you had to get the killing blow on the bosses for the event achievement, the size of the groups were much much smaller. It would be better if rewards were devalued by each extra person that was in the group.
