How can ZOS justify the BG deserter penalty when their own server freezes you out?

Title says it all...
I never have problems any other times...but during the current event I've been frequently frozen and dumped to the login screen. I then get penalized with a 20 minute cooldown before I can go back into BG. That's even longer than the BG itself...Worst was the first day of the event, and then the freeze-ups subsideded...but today it's really bad again. This is happening just after the lengthy maintenance today. Coincidence? I think not, what do you think?

fgoron2000✭✭✭✭i've had 3 today, and i've only been playing for about 3 hours so far. On the first day I was tossed at least a half dozen times, but then I figured it was due to being the first day since it eased up after that, but then today it came right back...

Shezzarrine✭✭✭✭✭Same situation here, was bad when the event started then it went away. Now I'm getting kicked frequently again after maitanance. Not only do you miss out on the AP but you get the stupid deserter penalty.
But on the other hand if they took away the penalty for disconnects, if someone wanted to quit they could just disconnect their internet and log right back on with no penalty.
They should probably half the penalty to 10min, at least for the event.1 -
